Abstract
The paper reveals the importance of children's fiction in the personal development of children. The article deals with the tasks of the curriculum of preschool education, the organization of the educational process in the institution of preschool education in this direction. The author describes the experience of using effective methods and techniques in the practice of a preschool teacher when introducing children of junior and senior preschool age to fiction. The author traces the sequence of the teacher's work with didactic material, which develops children's interest in works of fiction and folklore, the ability to perceive their content. The article draws attention to the effectiveness of using the project method in the senior preschool age in this direction.
