Abstract

The purpose is on the basis of a theoretical review of the main classifications of soft skills, to justify the author’s model of flexible skills of a modern specialist. Methods. Theoretical (analysis, synthesis, comparison, abstraction, generalization, systematization of scientific literature on the study of features of soft skills). Results. The article analyzes the characteristics and classifications of soft skills. The author’s model of soft skills is presented, which contains four blocks: communicative (verbal and non-verbal communication skills, social intelligence, social-perceptive skills, team building and teamwork skills, public speaking skills, self-presentation and oratorical skills, correspondence and storytelling skills, the ability to persuade, the ability to negotiate, the ability to resolve conflicts, intercultural communication and interaction skills), thinking and metacognitive soft skills (curiosity, openness to new experiences, reframing and flexibility of thinking, observation, abnotivity, mastery of metacognitive strategies, the ability to learn, critical thinking, systemic thinking, speed of thinking, creativity), regulatory soft skills (willpower, optimism, sense of humor, attention management, self-efficacy, implicit theories of growing abilities, achievement motivation and readiness to take risks, emotional intelligence, self-regulation of states, behavior and activities, self-organization and time management, reflexivity) and career skills (goal-setting, coordination and project management skills, delegation and facilitation skills, business communication ethics, etiquette, diplomacy and tolerance, career orientations for management, self-development and achievement, entrepreneurial skills, leadership qualities, assertiveness, mentoring and supervision skills, sales, marketing and advertising skills, personnel management skills, resourcefulness and competitiveness). Conclusions. The results of the theoretical analysis of the problem of soft skills showed that the ideas about their structure, list and characteristics are different in modern researches of psychological, pedagogical and managerial directions. The presented study shows a new author’s model of soft skills of a modern specialist, which represents the inter- and intrapsychic reality of the individual and contains soft skills described in traditional studies, as well as those proposed for consideration for the first time. The presented theoretical model of soft skills contains two intrapsychic blocks (thinking and metacognitive skills and regulatory skills) and two interpsychic blocks (communicative and career skills).
