Abstract

This study was performed to investigate the structural relationship among social support, grit, and academic self-efficacy in nursing students. A descriptive survey study was performed from October 1 to 14, 2022. Self-reported data using structured questionaries were collected from 122 nursing students in an University. Collected data were analyzed by structural equation model using SmartPLS 3.3.7. Among social support systems in nursing students, parental and professional supports had significant positive impacts on the grit. The grit had significant positive impacts on academic self-efficacy. Also, the grit mediates significantly the relationship between parental support and academic self-efficacy. The grit is significant predictor of academic self-efficacy in nursing students. To enhance academic self-efficacy of nursing students, it is necessary to be developed the grit improvement programs considering to social support system.
