Abstract

The purpose of this study is to present basic directions for future research, treatment, and psychosocial rehabilitation for people with physical disabilities. To this end, this study collected a total of 53 journal and dissertation papers using search keywords such as ‘physical disability’, ‘acceptance of disability’, and ‘acceptance of physical disability’ in the dissertation search databases such as RISS. The collected papers were analyzed by publication year, research subject, research major field, research method, and research variable, and the results were presented. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that research on disability acceptance of the physically handicapped was not active, but it was steadily conducted, and the relationship with various research variables was explored mainly through quantitative research targeting adolescents and older. The results are expected to bo used as basic data for disability acceptance research, treatment, and psychosocial rehabilitation in the future. Based on the results, suggestions for helping people with physical disabilities to accept their disabilities and suggestions for follow-up research were made.
