Abstract
The article reveals the potential of an extracurricular activity course in developing conscious reading and overcoming difficulties that arise in primary school students during their acquisition of reading activity. Using the course “Revealing the Secrets of the Text” as an example, an approach to setting target guidelines and selecting course content is considered that allows for a differentiated approach and providing targeted assistance to readers with different levels of reading proficiency.
