Abstract
The article examines the features of tutor support in the context of its historical development. The main characteristics of the areas of tutor support at the end of the XX and the beginning of the XXI century are given, the effectiveness of its inclusion in the structure of a comprehensive school in connection with federal state educational standards and requirements for school graduates is substantiated.
