Abstract

Collecting and studying signs of postal payment - postage stamps, marked envelopes, postcards, tags and labels, as well as calendars and special cancellations are called philately. The most common objects of collecting of philatelists are postage stamps. The main purpose of this research is to identify signs of postal payment in the collection of the Altai State Museum of Local Lore. The author sets the tasks to trace the main stages of the formation of the collection of postage stamps in the museum, to give a general description of the content of the collection of signs of postal payment. The author of the article focuses on the features of completing this type of philately for museums of local lore profile and the prospects of using postage stamps in the exhibition activities of the museum.
