Abstract

The paper presents a find of a ceramic vessel discovered during field work on the study of irrigation systems in the valley of the Chulyshman River (Ulagan district of the Altai Republic) in the fall of2021. The vessel was found on a trampled section of the slope of a small hill near soddy small flat barrows. Taking into account the peculiarities of the location of the vessel near the burial objects, it is assumed that it can be associated with them. Probably, the ceramic bowl was left at this place during the rituals of the funeral-memorial cycle. The closest analogies to the vessel are found in the materials of the settlements of the early Iron Age in the Northern Altai and the Upper Ob region. Preliminary dating is established within the Early Scythian time (VIII-VI century BC).
