Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the survival struggle of Chinese migrant women living in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province after diplomatic relations between Korea and China in 1992. To this end, in-depth interviews were conducted with 32 cases and the survival struggle of Chinese migrant women was analyzed. They developed their capabilities in studying Korean, raising children, and supporting parents-in-law to adapt to the emotions and environment of Korean society, and as the head of a family, supporting parents and children, and developing independent economic power were also struggles to be recognized by Korean society and families. The results of the study initially complied to solve basic survival problems, but now they have established themselves as subjects of Korean society and concluded that they want migrant women to be guaranteed equal treatment with Koreans.
