Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to shed light on the world of pansori art through an interview with master singer Ahn Sook-sun. The method of this research is by summarizing Ahn Sooksun's musical achievements through her life and by exploring her independent creative spirit to communicate with the public according to the times and situations in the process of creating her works. We explore the artistic world of her pansori through her thoughts on how she came to sing the full version oh pansori. As a result, Ahn Sook-sun made many attempts, such as Crossover and Fusion, to fuse various Western music with Korean music, including Classical music, Jazz, and K-Pop. Her artistic world was based on Korean classical music and added new creative works, making constant efforts to reach 'Deuk-eum', the highest level of pansori. Her objective for music was to be able communicate with the public. she contributed greatly in promoting our Korean sound to the world and expanded Korea's pansori culture.
