Abstract

This study conducted a social network analysis based on the perception of local residents in tourist destinations for a more in-depth study of the Xenophobia phenomenon. Semantic network analysis, one of the big data analysis methods, was applied. An analysis of the difference between the period of overtourism and the period of Covid 19 was conducted.As a result, in the situation of overtourism, the phenomenon of Genopovia was more dominant among considerations of the genopovian phenomenon and economic situation. In the Covid-19 situation, the difference was drawn that the consideration of the economic situation was more dominant among the considerations of the Xenophobic phenomenon and the economic situation. Theoretically, by conducting Xenophobic research in the field of tourism, it contributed to the external expansion of research in the field of tourism on hate phenomena. In practice, the basis for this was provided to prepare countermeasures to the government, local governments, and the tourism industry.
