Abstract
Abstract. Introduction. Every year Ukraine becomes a new member of world-known international organizations. That is why, at the present stage, it is important to train highly qualified translation specialists, whose purpose is to develop competence. The purpose of this study is to address the problems of the content of the of the translator’s competence and to analyze its structure. A number of general scientific methods (induction, deduction, introspection, analysis) are used to achieve the purpose of the research. Results. Future translators should have a certain position in their activities, be aware of the humanistic values of the translation profession, which are aimed at professional-personal self-improvement, reflection, be attentive to cooperation and dialogue, have the ability to design personal-oriented interaction.The competence of an interpreter is regarded as the ability to perform certain job functions. This competence is the knowledge and skills to perform a particular type of translation at a level. Accordingly, the components of the mentioned competence are logically called competences, and elements of the latter - subcompetences. The translator’s competence is not automatically inherented. It requires special formation that occurs in the process of specially organized training. The competence of future translators from one point of view includes basic (general), key and specific (functional) competences. According to L. Chernovaty approach it includes five constituents: bilingual, extra-linguistic, translation, personal and strategic competences. Conclusion. Thus, we have considered the meaning of the term professional competence of the translator, which is used to refer to the list of knowledge, skills and abilities required for the translator. and the ability to perform functions in accordance with set standards and requirements. Thus, we have come to the conclusion that translator's competence is a complex, multicomponent and multidimensional category that integrates certain components and is characterized by synergistic openness. We consider the study of the component composition of sub-competences and competences of the basic categories as a prospect of our further research.
