Abstract

The purpose of this study is to trace the traces of Sik-am Kim Seok-ju's acceptance and enjoyment of Gonganpa literature. The literature of the Gonganpa emerged in the middle of the Ming Dynasty, criticizing the Uigopa. The literature of the Kongan School, which insisted on expressing individual emotions naturally, had a great influence on the literary world in the late Joseon Dynasty. The research method is to analyze data in the field of poetry and prose related to the literature of the Kongan sect among Kim Seok-ju's activities. Kim Seok-joo published an anthology called Geumbeomjip, which was a compilation of the works of Gonganpa literati, and described a prose work called <Yewagapgi>, in which Chuang-tzu's thought was deeply revealed. This study analyzed Kim Seok-joo's literary theories centering on the above two data. As a result of the study, it can be evaluated that Kim Seok-ju played a key role in introducing Gonganpa literature to Joseon, and also contributed to enabling the Silhak literary style in the late Joseon Dynasty.
