Abstract

This paper examines the graffiti of the Camp Bosan public art project from the theoretical perspective of 'creating a creative place'. Camp Bosan Graffiti is a project that the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation and Dongducheon City have been promoting since December 2015 as part of their policy to improve the street environment at Bosan Station on Subway Line 1. From May 2019 to May 2022, interviews with 19 stakeholders of the project, including local residents, merchants, and local government officials, showed that it has been difficult to establish partnerships at the community level due to conflicting views and various perceptions. This study shows that in order to create a creative place, an in-depth understanding of how to resolve and coordinate disagreements between stakeholders is needed.
