Abstract

This study aimed to design a problem-based learning model for general Spanish course to strengthen communication using learner-centered teaching methods. The subjects of this study were divided into two classes for a total of 80 freshmen students taking Spanish classes in a university in Daejeon City for 10 weeks in the second semester of 2022. After reviewing the validity of five experts, the final model was completed through learner evaluation after applying it to actual classes. The results of the expert validity test showed that the average of suitability, explanatory power, and usefulness items was 3.0 or higher, but the average of comprehension items was 2.8 and less than 3.0. The final model of problem-based learning design was completed by reflecting the results of expert validity verification and learner evaluation.
