Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to organize the meaning of public language from the point of view of literacy and to explore the value of Korean as a public language and the possibility of extension of Korean. In order to achieve the purpose of the study, the public nature of the public language and its value as a public asset are investigated, and further, the scalability of the Korean language used by people around the world is examined. For the globalization of the Korean language, the need for flexible application of Korean norms and active communication and flexible attitude for the use of classy Korean emerged. In particular, the Korean language is the representative of the K brand in that it is a combination of Korean culture, Korean values, and Korean identity.
