Abstract

The article discusses the evolution of the concept of sustainable development at the present stage in the context of the emergence of new approaches providing theoretical justification and instrument set for this concept. An overview of the new approaches is undertaken in the context of the three spheres of sustainable development: ecological sphere – circular economy and bio-economy; social sphere – the concept of corporate social responsibility; the economic sphere – the concept of corporate sustainability. The concept of "green economy" and theory of resilience thinking are considered by the authors as promising theories that may provide a new quality of relationship of interdependence of the components of sustainable development.
