Abstract

The article substantiates the theoretical foundations of sustainable rural development. Based on a review of scientific sources, the concepts of sustainability, sustainable development; sustainable development of agriculture, food subcomplexes, rural areas and households are defined. The author's definition of the sustainable development of the fruit and vegetable canning subcomplex of the agroindustrial complex is given. The factors influencing the sustainable development of households have been identified. The measures of mutually beneficial relations in the integration and cooperation processes of households with business entities of agricultural production, processing industry, procurement and marketing organizations; ensuring food security and sustainable development of households and rural areas are proposed.
