Abstract

The article deals with the actual problems of the unification of modern national terminology systems related to design. The objective of the work is to reveal the degree of the adequacy of the terms usage comparing the definitions, scope and content of the notions. The novelty of the study is that these terminology systems have not been previously subjected to the comparative analysis. The obtained results show the system of the correspondence of the Russian terms of technical aesthetics and the English terminology of industrial design. The results can be used in practice for international professional communication, education and compilation of special dictionaries.
