Abstract

The scientific article provides an overview of the geopolitical competition in the Southern Caucasus after the 44-day war. The key states and actors, including EU, Russia, Turkey, USA Iran and China, are analyzed along with their objectives and strategies in the region within the Special military operation in Ukraine. The roles of EU, Turkey, Iran, USA, China and Russia, with its longstanding influence in the region and significant role in post the 44-days war, are examined. Furthermore, the roles of Turkey, USA, EU, Iran and China are analyzed in the context of energy resources. The possible choices made by Georgia in the geopolitical struggle are explored and special attention given to the role of indigenous Armenians in Artsakh.
