Abstract

This study compared and analyzed three types of Current Issues and Affairs textbooks for Korean language learners with academic purposes to develop the basic materials necessary for teaching current issues and affairs as an elective course at the university level. I analyzed the Current Issues and Affairs textbooks that were published after 2010 to identify their educational goals, curriculum, subjects, and vocabulary and to determine their limitations to provide suggestions for how Current Issues and Affairs textbooks should be developed in the future.
