Abstract

The study aimed to assess the smart factory readiness of small and medium-sized silk textile manufacturers to introduce and advance the smart factory strategies. A comprehensive questionnaire with a 5-point scale was used to evaluate various aspects of resource management systems, including production facilities. The research analyzed two manufacturers in Jinju, South Korea: Company A(not implemented smart factory technology, medium automation level) and Company B(implemented smart factory technology, high automation level). The results recommended simultaneous training for both enterprise operations and production management personnel for introducing the smart technology; and advised to retain more control over information security to advance the strategy.
