Abstract

Determining the state and trends of the drug situation in the Russian Federation is one of the urgent problems of state policy in the field of countering illicit drug trafficking aimed at protecting the health of citizens, ensuring state and public safety.
 Based on official sources and departmental statistical reports, the article provides a criminological analysis of the drug situation, including an assessment of the consequences of non-medical drug use and the main indicators of drug trafficking for the period from 2018 to 2022 in the Russian Fed-eration. The main attention is paid to such indicators as the state, dynamics and structure of crimes in the field of illicit trafficking. Their tendencies associated with the action of a number of criminogenic and anticriminogenic factors (legal, political, informational, etc.) are determined.
 The presented research results will allow timely identification of new criminal threats associated with drug trafficking, identify priority areas of preventive activities of law enforcement agencies, develop and apply the most effective preventive measures.
