The article authors reveal the essence, principles and components of children’s national and patriotic education in modern conditions. The authors characterize the importance of traditions and rituals in the implementation of children’s national and patriotic education, the specific features of celebration of certain holidays (Christmas, Easter, Independence Day) in Ukraine and their role in the formation of person’s national consciousness
