Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the impact of PBL on the development of student competencies, and based on this, to suggest direction for academic service. A total of 397 responses from both pre-survey and post-survey were used for analysis. The analysis method involved conducting paired-sample t-tests between the pre and the post tests to assess the effectiveness of PBL, and the analysis was performed using the SPSS 23.0 statistical package. The research findings indicate that participation in PBL positively influences students' self-directed learning abilities. Also, the experience of participating in PBL has a positive impact on students' problem-solving skills. Lastly, the participation in PBL positively contributes to enhancing students' creativity convergence competencies. This study is significant in providing knowledge necessary for strengthening university student engagement and improving learner-centered curricula and academic services.
