Abstract

This study confirmed the importance of Pilates exercise necessary for the increase in a college student’s self-efficacy by identifying the relations of influence of fun factors in Pilates reformer exercise, in which a college student is participating, on self-efficacy and adherence intention. To deduct such a result, this study used the questionnaires, to which 284 persons replied, and conducted frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis ,reliability analysis, and correlation analysis through the SPSS 20.0 program; in addition, this study conducted multi-regression analysis for hypothesis testing to deduct the conclusion as follows: First, the fun factor in Pilates reformer exercise established the relations of influence on exercise/social self-efficacy. and second, fun factors in Pilates reformer exercise established the relations of influence on adherence intention. Accordingly, this study learned that the Pilates reformer exercise is forming the positive relations with a college student’s self-efficacy, and identified that there is also the formation of a positive relation with a college student’s continuous participation through the fun factor in Pilates reformer exercise. Such a discovery proves diverse effects of Pilates, and the existing mat Pilates is important in making it possible for a college student to make easy access to Pilates exercise, but this study judges that now is the proper time to popularize Pilates using the equipment like the Pilates reformer.
