Abstract

This paper traces the major elements of Kwon Jeong-saeng's ecological thought, focusing on the work Daedaerong From Rangrang Star. The characteristic of this work is that it deals with three worlds using a fantasy form. By dealing with the “Earth Star” we live in, “the present of Rangrang Star”, and another world “Rangrang Star, which dates back to 500 years ago,” the writer is drawing the ecology and social problems of the Earth, the future society that will come if science and technology continue to develop, and the ideal world he wants to present as an alternative. In this paper, we reveal how the three worlds unfolded in Kwon Jung-saeng's work Daedaerong From Rangrang Star relate to the negative reality of our society diagnosed by the author, the ideal society presented as a prescription, and the important moments of pursuing such an alternative.
