Abstract

This study investigates how the extra-curriculum programme, which is called English Clinic operated by J university, affects global competency. To find out the mean difference between pre and post survey on global competency for the participants, the paired t-test is applied. And to find out what the learners achieved, the participants’ self-reports with regard to how they have changed before and after taking the programme were analyzed. The results demonstrate that the participation of English Clinic leads to the improvement of overall global competencies, not only foreign language literacy also global citizenship and multicultural acceptance. In addition, the learners show positive attitude changes on internal motivation to study English and on improvement of self-confidence.
