Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to present disaster safety management policy improvement measures in order to reduce damage from disasters by gender and to develop response capabilities through disaster, accident and safety management awareness surveys. Due to rapid development, our society is becoming more and more complex and large, so disasters and accidents can cause great damage. In order to prevent and prepare for this in advance, previous studies on women's disaster vulnerability and disaster safety management from a gender-sensitive perspective were reviewed, and statistical techniques were analyzed based on the Seoul Institute's survey on Seoul citizens' awareness of disaster and accident risks. As a result, it was proved that there is a difference in awareness about the risk of disasters and accidents according to gender, and that the disaster safety management policy needs to be improved.
