Abstract

The digital transformation of social infrastructure makes it possible to ensure the effective functioning of cities, improve the quality of life and meet the growing needs of the population. The use of digital technologies provides an opportunity to use resources more efficiently and reduce the negative impact on the environment, as well as creates new opportunities for entrepreneurs, promotes the development of technology startups and attracts investment to the region. All these factors make the study of the digital transformation of social infrastructure relevant and necessary to ensure the sustainable development of modern cities [6, pp. 96-114]. The article presents the results of the assessment of the digital transformation of the cities with millions of inhabitants of the Ural Federal District — Chelyabinsk and Yekaterinburg based on the developed institutional indicators.
