Abstract
In literary sources there are discrepancies in the time of the work of the assay masters, who served in Moscow assay establishments in the second half of the XIX century. The article specifies the periods of their service. The author carries out the study by the comparative analysis of the literary sources devoted to this subject, as well as the presence of the photos of assay hallmarks in the database “The Russian Hallmarks on Articles of Decorative and Applied Art Made of Precious Metals”. In the process of the research, previously unpublished hallmarks of assay masters are also revealed.
