The article is devoted to the research of issues of methodological tools of strategic development and increase of competitiveness of Ukrainian seaports. The state policy of development of seaports should promote the development of Ukrainian maritime transport infrastructure and increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian seaports.The purpose of the article is to investigate and apply the methodological tools of strategic development and increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian seaports.Scientific novelty. It is determined that the search of methodological tools for diagnostics and identification of constitutive factors of strategic development of Ukrainian seaports is burdened with certain characterological aspects, which necessitates improvement of methodological tools for identification of constructive and destructive factors of strategic development of Ukrainian seaports. A SWOT analysis of the strategic development of Ukrainian seaports has been carried out. The factors of constructive and destructive nature of the development of seaports are determined. The indicators of competitiveness of the country as a whole and its individual structures are analyzed. The influence of individual factors, such as export, import, transit, cargo turnover, on the level of competitiveness of maritime infrastructure is determined by the method of correlation-regression analysis.Conclusions. The development of Ukraine’s transit potential should be one of the most important elements of a sustainable economic growth strategy. Given the effective management of internal communications and transit opportunities, increasing the competitiveness of the state is possible, both in economic direction, as well as in the field of social development and national security. In this regard, Ukraine’s maritime infrastructure has a strong potential that should be used to the full in order to boost the national economy.It can be concluded that in calculating the competitiveness index of strategic development of Ukrainian seaports it is necessary to take into account the number and volume of commodity flows, which is able to process the ports of a state taking into account the geographical conditions of its location. The correlation and the graphical method have established not only the level of density of these factors, but also the forms that are heterogeneous in nature and induce factors to be grouped according to the types of regression forms of their influence on the outcome.
