Abstract
The article substantiates the need for the formation of the ecological component of the social sector of the regional economy. The conceptual model of the ecological component and its structure are presented. In the socio-ecological component and the ecological-economic component of the ecological component, the main blocks are highlighted, including such as: «Regional habitat and its ecological safety», «Ecological and climatic factor of health as a component of the quality and quantity of human capital», «Economic landscape and trends its changes», «Business as a driver of sustainable development», «Education for sustainable development as the basis of environmental thinking and behavior». The analysis of the influence of the main blocks on the formation and development of human capital, including the negative impact of the regional environment on human capital (a component «health»), is carried out.
