Abstract
The article reveals the essence of the phenomenon “genre synthesis”, which is a special principle of the creator’s activity: combining a wide range of artistic devices of different genres implemented in a certain artwork. Both the genre synthesis and the synthesis of arts in a wider sense become an object of researchers’ interest because their usage influences directly the evolution of art - the creation of new original genre mixtures. Relying on available theoretical knowledge the author analyzes how the genre synthesis manifests itself in musical art.
