Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the morphological and cardiological characteristics of the mouse kidney cell line (PM). Earlier, the authors obtained a primary cell culture from mouse kidney tissue, which gave rise to a cell line. The culture of PM cells has passed more than 150 passages. The authors studied how the cytomorphological and karyological characteristics of this cell line have changed. It is known that the time of transition of diploid cultures to a permanent cell line is the period when the modal class of chromosomes decreases or increases by 1–3 chromosomes. By studying the karyotype of mouse kidney cells, it was found that at the level of 150 passages, the cells retained a diploid set of chromosomes. The modal class of the culture has not been changed, but there is a shift towards an increase in the number of hyperploid cells. The morphology of PM cells remains homogeneous epithelial, the cell nuclei are large rounded, the structure of the nuclei is homogeneous, the cytoplasm is fine-grained, without vacuolization.
