Abstract

Children are often excited to explore the way the physical world they live in is functioning. They need to investigate by playing with constructions how the imaginary images from their realm is transforming into concrete objects. Building and deconstructing with loose parts helps the children to develop their design thinking and creativity. Constructive play urges them to master problem-solving and engineering skills. The paper is focused on ways of exploration the various possibilities of loose parts in construction and technology education. The creative assessments presented in the paper aim to provoke and inspire children’s imagination. The techniques may be used as a tool in the pedagogical practice.
