Abstract

This study is a qualitative case study that explores the counseling intervention process to improved interpersonal relationships of a Korean college student studying in the U.S. Five counseling sessions(120 minutes per session, and a total of 10 hours) were provided to a research participant who has been exposed to cultures of both Korea and the US, aiming to improve the participant’s understanding of herself and others as well as her interpersonal relationship skill. We document that the participant enhanced the self-insight and improve self-understanding, understanding of others, and interpersonal relationship skills with the Enneagram personality toolkit. Using the Enneagram as a psychological counseling intervention method, this study provides a useful reference and relevant data to clinical professionals.
