Abstract
The article analyzes the contribution of local historian A.S. Nemоlovsky in the field of study of archaeological and historical sites of the Novosibirsk region. He discovered previously unknown archaeological sites, and for the first time drew attention to such a type of archaeological site. In addition, A.S. Nemolovsky was engaged in the collection of folklore, preserved information about one of the oldest stone buildings in the city of Kainsk - the Spassky Cathedral, which existed for a little over one hundred and fifty years, and about the oldest cemetery in Kainsk. The article also reveals the details of his complex biography and the information that was obtained during the study.
