Abstract

The article is devoted to the completion of the publication characterizing the location and features of archaeological sites located in the Upper Chumysh region on the northwestern border of the Tselinny and Eltsovsky regions of the Altai Territory. The described complexes are located in the right-bank zone of the Chumysh river valley. This side of the valley belongs to the spurs of the Salair Ridge. The tract, the name of which was determined by the socle cape of Mount Kuyuk, is bounded by the Shamonikha (Chumanikha) river on the south side, and the valley of the Tatarka river on the north. In addition to these names, a place is known in the mouth zone of the Tatarka River, where the village of Oktyabrskoye was previously located. In front of Cape Kuyuk, the coast forms a bend in an easterly direction, indented with logs, the largest has the name Shirokiy Log. All these toponyms and hydronyms were used to form the names of the sites discovered in this region: localities, quarry sites (Kuyuk-V), settlements (Shiroky log-I, Kuyuk-III, Oktyabrsky-I) and burial mounds (Shiroky Log-II, Kuyuk-IV).
