Abstract

The article examines the peculiarities of an individual translator’s style, based on the example of the German-language translations of the little prose A. Kurkov. The research is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic personality of the author and translator, their similarities and differential dominants. The literary translation is seen as a connecting link in the intercultural and, therefore, cross-literary relations of representatives of language communities. In the context of the studying problems of literary translation, in recent years, the intelligence on the personality of the translator is becoming increasingly important. Each interpreter approaches the reproduction of foreign-language text individually and uniquely. The translator’s creative personality has not yet been studied sufficiently, taking into account the context of national culture and the translation tradition. The individual interpreter’s style includes the transformations characteristic of it, which prevail over the number in the translation test. In this way the individual language of the translator is determined by the stylistic dominant of deviations from the original, although their use is not always satisfi ed.
