Abstract
The article considers the system of teaching professionally-oriented English to future IT specialists on the example of textbooks published by teachers of the "Foreign Languages" Department. The examples of tasks by working with a lexical minimum on professional topics, by working with professionally-oriented texts, as well as the use of a variety of clichés and conversational formulas by discussing original texts are given.
