Religious Character Education "Ngaji Laku" Based on Figure of Kiai's Character in Islamic Boarding School

The oldest Islamic educational institution is pesantren which is also a component of community education. The expansion and growth of Islam Nusantara and other Islamic institutions in Indonesia have been greatly assisted by pesantren. This study aims to find out the religious character of "ngaji laku" and the practice of pesantren. This research is a field research using a qualitative approach. Pesantren Sabilul Ma'arif is one of the pesantren that implements "ngaji laku" character education in its education system, this is done by various activities in the form of mandatory prayers in congregation, reciting the Qur'an, fasting suluk/mutih, yellow Islamic books (Kitab Kuning), various sunnah prayers: tahajjud, hajat, qabliyah subuh, kifaratul bauli, qabliyah ḍuhur, ba'diyah ḍuhur, qabliyah asar, ba'diyah maghrib, awwabin, rawatib, subutil iman, repentance, suluk, qabliyah isyak, ba'diyah isya', witir, ḍikr practices and tarbiyah (secret knowledge that no one should know) which not all boarding schools have. The religious element of "ngaji laku" is one that dominates education at Sabilul Ma'arif Islamic Boarding School.

Religious Authority in the New Media Era: Sabilul Huda Islamic Boarding School Da'wah on Social Media

This research aims to discuss religious authority in the new media era, with the object of study being the Da'wah model of the Sabilul Huda Tasikmalaya Islamic boarding school. This paper uses ethnographic and netnographic methods. Ethnography was carried out by interviews and following book studies at the Sabilul Huda Islamic boarding school. Meanwhile, netnography conducts data searches on online participants. The results and discussion of this research include the relationship between religion and social media, the Sabilul Huda Islamic Boarding School's da'wah strategy on social media, and the authority of Islamic boarding schools and kiayi on social media. This research concludes that the interaction between religion and the internet causes positive and negative impacts. Another important finding is that about religious authority, the internet and religion follow the logic of discontinuity, namely viewing the internet as destroying traditional religious authority. Moreover, at the same time, the internet and religion can also follow the logic of continuity and complementarity. The Internet extends, complements, and strengthens traditional religious authority. Then, the strategy carried out by the Sabilul Huda Islamic boarding school in preaching and spreading its traditional religious sources on social media is carried out by live streaming the study of the Yellow Book on social media accounts, namely Sabilulhudamedia. Then, the authority of the traditional and charismatic Kiai is preserved by carrying out his preaching via social media. This research implies that this new da'wah model that utilizes online media keeps the influence of traditional religious authorities and Islamic boarding school Kiai.

Ulama and Knowledge in Modern Aceh: Abu Teupin Raya on Religious Sciences

Abstract: This article examines the intellectual tradition of Abu Teupin Raya in Aceh. The researcher utilizes the theories of Martin van Bruinessen, Zamaksyari Dhofier, and Azyumardi Azra on pesantren and the tradition of yellow books (kitab kuning), as well as the theory of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas on the classification of knowledge. This study is a literature review with a historical approach. Primary data, including the writings of Abu Teupin Raya and various biographical notes, are analysed using content analysis methods. The study argues that Abu Teupin Raya is an Acehnese scholar who successfully transmitted traditional Islam as found in yellow books written by several scholars of the Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamā‘ah and Shāfi‘i schools. Additionally, he expanded the treasury of traditional Islam by composing his own books, some of which were written in Malay using Arabic script. Abu Teupin Raya is a traditionalist scholar who preserved elements of traditional Islam and actively safeguarded religious knowledge through teaching and writing yellow books during the Aceh conflict. Mandailing Ulama in Modern Malaysia: The Intellectual Network and Works of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qādir al-Mandīlī

Abstract: This article examines the intellectual network and manuscript legacy of Shaykh ‘Abd al-Qādir al-Mandīlī, a scholar from South Tapanuli, Indonesia, who dedicated his knowledge abroad in Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. The study employs a literature review approach with a historical perspective. Primary sources for this research consist of all works authored by the scholar, written entirely in Malay with Arabic script. The study demonstrates his dissemination of reformist ideas through religious education in both Malaysia and the Haramain, alongside the composition of numerous yellow books (kitab kuning). He fostered relationships with various scholars and attracted numerous students in both the Haramain and Malaysia. All his scholars are prominent figures in the Shāfi‘ī and Ash‘ari schools. Additionally, he propagated neo-Sufism by harmonizing between Shariah and Sufism. This study further corroborates Azyumardi Azra's theory on the network of scholars. Peran Pendampingan Belajar Nahwu Dalam Meningkatkan Pengaruh Positif Minat Belajar Siswa

The aim of the service is to provide solutions to problems found in the assisted locations, especially in nahwu learning activities at Madrasah Diniyah At-Taqwim. Assistance provided by seventh semester students at STAI Denpasar Bali to students in learning Arabic by studying Nahwu. The students learn Arabic to read the yellow book. In studying Arabic, students must be able to understand the meaning. Students at the Madrasah Diniyah At-Taqwim Islamic Boarding School are still weak in mastering Arabic, while these students are not interested in learning Arabic, because they have difficulty understanding. Students learn to read the yellow book traditionally by memorizing, while not all students are able to memorize. The service method in the role of nahwu learning assistance is the participatory action research method, starting with observation, planning, implementation and evaluation. Mentoring is carried out by empowering teachers according to their competencies and motivating and monitoring activities so that teachers and students can carry out the Nahwu learning process. The teacher is able to instruct and demonstrate in learning Nahwu using cooperative learning methods, so that he is able to show that students are interested in learning Nahwu in Arabic.

THE DYNAMICS OF THE EDUCATIONAL MODEL OF PESANTREN IN THE NATIONAL EDUCATION SYSTEM

Historically, pesantren education has undergone several changes, both related to the model, curriculum, objectives, and management system. The renewal was carried out so that pesantren education as an Indonesian Islamic educational institution was able to answer the challenges and demands of changing times. This paper aims to describe the Islamic education model of pesantren and its dynamics in the national education system, because until now pesantren still seems to be in two dilemma choices: whether pesantren will continue to maintain its tradition by maintaining its unique values or follow the times with all its dynamics. library research method with a descriptive analysis approach, the authors found that there are several models of Islamic boarding schools that are legally recognized in Law no. 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools. that is; a. Islamic boarding schools that organize education in the form of the study of the Yellow Book; b. Islamic Boarding Schools that provide education in the form of Islamic Dirasah with Muallimin Education Patterns; or c. Islamic boarding schools that provide education in other forms that are integrated with general education.

Pendampingan Baca Kitab Cepat Desa Juwet Kenongo Porong Sidoarjo

In studying religious knowledge, it cannot be denied that the absolute requirement is knowledge in Arabic, because the source of this religion is the Al-Qur'an and Hadith in Arabic. So it is very necessary to have a forum that can accommodate teenagers in Juwet village to be able to continue studying religion by starting with studying the rules of the Arabic language with the aim of being able to read and understand the meaning contained in the literature of Islamic study books. For this reason, training and assistance on how to read and then getting used to reading the Yellow Book properly and correctly needs to be applied. The target achievements of this program are the introduction of the yellow book for beginners, increasing the analysis of nahwu - shorof for the intermediate level, and increasing understanding and learning for the advanced level. This is very suitable for those who have an interest in the yellow book but do not have the opportunity to study at an Islamic boarding school. In this service, the main problem being worked on is how to improve the ability of teenagers in Juwet village, Kenongo in an effort to read the yellow book and pronounce Arabic sentences based on the study of Nahwu and Shorof Science. So, this training in reading the Kunig Book is a forum that can facilitate the teenagers of Pakong village to be able to continue their Islamic studies which were stopped when they entered junior high school or equivalent. From this community service activity, it can be concluded that it is intended to provide insight to the teenagers of Juwet village, Kenongo Porong Sidoarjo who are not yet familiar with the tradition of reading the yellow book or the bald book which is often a reference in religious community life. So that you can explore the meanings contained in it.

Moderate Dai in the Era of Digitalization; Challenges and Ethics of Preaching on Social-Media According to Islam and Local Wisdom

Nowadays, the phenomenon of proselytizing through social media has become a demand and trend in itself. One of its advantages is that the Internet network can penetrate the boundaries of space and time. However, its existence also raises pros and cons among the community. In reality, all da'wah content on social media is not acceptable, and it often reaps controversy, causes polemics, and triggers conflict. For example, political da'wah that contains hate speech, economic da'wah that contains elements of forced alms, business da'wah that aims to promote a product, and so on. This research is a literature review that adopts mostly qualitative research techniques. The main data sources are scientific literature studies in the form of books, yellow books, and journals that discuss challenges and ethical values in preaching on social media. The purpose of this study is to examine the extent of the problems and challenges of da'wah in social media, given the rapid advancement of technology and information, of course, da'wah will certainly experience new transformations and challenges by the times. In addition, it wants to know how the ethics of a preacher on social media should be in delivering his da'wah material, both to the people present and netizens in the view of Islam and local wisdom.

Delik Samen Leven Dalam KUHP Baru Perspektif Fikih

The creation of the law on the offense of the samen leven (cohabitation) in the new Criminal Code has reaped the pros and cons of society. Some support it, while others reject it on the grounds that the government is taking too much care of its citizens' privacy rights. Through this writing, the author wishes to analyze the creation of cohabitation offense laws from an Islamic perspective using a tool called fiqh. The research method used in this study was library research. The primary arguments in formulating Islamic views through this research are (1) Al-Qur'an, (2) Al-Hadith, (3) rules of jurisprudence and (4) at-turāṡ (yellow book). These primary postulates were then managed using a tafsīr (interpretation) approach to formulate the final conclusion. As a result of this research, the author found that from an Islamic perspective, the adoption of cohabitation as a law is in line with Islamic norms. However, jurisprudence does not necessarily agree with the content of articles of the law on cohabitation. Some articles are not in accordance with Islamic values. Therefore, in this case, the governent has an obligation to improve the content of the Samen Leven (cohabitation) Law.

THE DECLINING ASWAJA THEOLOGY KNOWLEDGE PRODUCTION: A Case Study of al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah in Medan City

Al-Jam’iyatul Washliyah (AW) and Aswaja theology are covered in this article. As a religious institution, AW acknowledges Aswaja’s ideology as the foundation for its mission. To maintain and develop Aswaja theology, AW utilizes educational institutions and recitation of the kitab kuning (yellow book) as a knowledge production for Aswaja theology. A question concerning the state of educational institutions today and the recitation of the Yellow Book at AW in Medan City was posed in order to comprehend the information presented. A case study about AW in Medan City is the qualitative research methodology that is employed. In addition, leaders, religious authorities, educators, and AW-related documents make up the primary data source. According to his research, educational institutions that regularly support Aswaja books undergo internal changes and come to terms with the reality that teachers, or ustadh, are becoming less and less proficient in the classics. Additionally, a number of the study’s leaders—who were specialists in classic literature—passed away, which caused a setback to the kitab kuning study. Thus there was a downturn in the study of the kitab kuning. The results verify the weakening of the apparatus in AW that produces Aswaja theology.

Strategi Pengembangan Program Baca Kitab Kuning di Madrasah Diniyah Kota Tegal

Diniyah Madrasah is one of the Islamic educational institutions that has its own characteristics, including the yellow book reading program in the teaching and learning process. There must be a strategy in developing the reading program. This research aims to find out how the strategy of the Tegal City Diniyah Madrasah in developing the yellow book reading program as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors. The approach and type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The result of this research is the strategy in Madrasah Diniyah Istiqomah Tegal City, implementing strategies in the form of Sorogan system, memorization, data collection, permanent teachers. The inhibiting factor is the difficulty of recruiting students so that the assatidz need to adjust. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the Istiqomah Madrasah has a goal of making yellow book learning as one of the compulsory lessons that must be followed by every santri and by reading Javanese religious books and Arabic scriptures, it is hoped that students will gain an understanding of the contents of the book, and deepen religious knowledge.

The Application of the Sorogan and Takrir Methods in Increasing Understanding of Arabic Texts

Learning is a process in which a person changes his behavior as a result of experience. Therefore, researchers are interested in researching the Institute of Youth Education, Pacul Gowang Jombang. The focus of research in writing this thesis is: (1) How is Surugan Takreer applied in the Youth Education Institute? (2) How do students at the Institute for Youth Education understand Arabic texts? (3) What are the motives and obstacles in applying Surugan Takreer to increase Arabic texts in the Youth Education Institute? The type of research used is descriptive qualitative research. The study data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and in-depth documentation. While analyzing the data used are Miles and Hubermin's theory which is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. This study also validated the data with expanded participation, continued monitoring, and triangulation of sources and techniques. The search result is (1) Applying the Surugan and Takreer method through the Yellow Book (a) The purpose of using the Surugan and Takreer method will be easier to justify if there are errors. In reading Arabic texts in the Yellow Book (B) Preparation for learning to read Arabic texts by nderes first before Surujan. (c) In practice, students read in front of the teacher and the teacher listens while making corrections. Advantages of the Surujan method: (a) The objectivity of this method, in addition to facilitating reading, is more important for preserving and preserving the reading that the reader possesses (b) Preparing for learning to read the Yellow Book by the repeating method, that is, repeating the reading until it is completely memorized. (c) Application of learning to read Arabic texts in the yellow book, i.e. students present their reading before the teacher so that the teacher can justify if there is an error in the reading. (d) Evaluation is carried out by bringing evidence of stored reading, at which time the teacher gives grades.

Growing the Character of Students Through the Implementation of the Islamic Boarding School Curriculum at the Darul Hijrah Al Aziziyah Kutacane

The demand for materialism in the social life of today's society is an indicator that contributes to the formation of mental aridity. This is an encouragement for people to find institutions and figures who can provide spiritual guidance to calm their hearts. So in this case, Islamic educational institutions are an alternative in providing a solution to this anxiety. This research was conducted at the Darul Hijrah Al Aziziyah Kutacane Islamic Boarding School, the research method was carried out using qualitative methods with a phonomenological approach. Based on the results of research that has been carried out, it was found that the Darul Hijrah Al Aziziyah Islamic Boarding School is an institution that manages two curricula, namely the Islamic boarding school curriculum with an emphasis on learning the Yellow Book and the general education curriculum, namely Middle School and High School. Islamic boarding school educational traditions include the yellow book curriculum, the implementation of congregational worship with an emphasis on remembrance of both obligatory worship and sunnah. The emphasis is on dhikr, which in essence does not only mention the name of Allah, but also presents Him in the heart in worship activities. Therefore, dhikr must be carried out using procedures guided by the Islamic boarding school leadership. So in this case, a teacher has a strategic role in the world of information and communication. A teacher has the role of filtering the flow of information entering the student environment, transmitting what is considered useful and discarding what is considered detrimental to them. This is the role of remembrance in shaping the morals and character of students so that students are careless about worship activities and no longer busy themselves with useless negligence.

Learning the Yellow Book of Nubdatul Bayan in the Acceleration Program at the Mambaul Ulum Al-Hamidiyah Foundation Mayang Jember

The yellow book learning among the people is no longer a stranger, because many people have lodged their children in Islamic boarding schools so that they can learn the yellow book learning. The mambaul ulum al-hamidiyah foundation is one of the foundations that applies the learning of the nubdatul bayan yellow book in the acceleration program. Where acceleration means acceleration and the book of nubdatul bayan is one of the books that teaches how to quickly read a book that discusses the science of tools, namely the science of nahwu and the science of sorrof. This study aims to determine how the planning, implementation and evaluation. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with the type of field research (field research). The results of this study indicate that the Book of Nubdatul Bayan Learning Planning in the Acceleration Program follows the curriculum that has been provided in detail by the center, and the rest for the RPP the clerics / clerics add themselves according to the learning material. The implementation of the Nubdatul Bayan Book Learning in the Acceleration Program has three important activities, namely introduction, core activity, and closing. In terms of Evaluation of the Learning of the Book of Nubdatul Bayan in the Acceleration Program, there are two tests, namely: a written test and an oral test.

Penerapan Metode Wetonan dalam Membaca Kitab Kuning Santri di Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam Kemuja

The researchers took this problem because there were some obstacles in the implementation of the learning of the yellow book in the Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam Kharja, namely: first, the ability of the centri in understanding yellow books is still low because they have not understood the Arabic language. Second, the low-centered mastery of the study of the Yellow Book Third, the difficulty of reading and understanding the contents of yellow text So, we need a proper method of dealing with the problem. This research has several purposes, namely: First, to find out how to apply the method of wetonan in reading the yellow book of the centurion in the Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam Kulaja. The method used in this research is qualitative. In the collection of data, observation techniques, interviews, and documentation are used. As for processing techniques and data analysis, they are done with data reduction, presentation of data, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study show that in the application of the method of wetonan in the reading of the yellow book of the clergy in the Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam, worship has three important components in the stages of learning the yellow book, namely planning, implementation, and evaluation. The application of the wetonan method in reading the yellow book of the centurion in the Pondok Pesantren Al-Islam Kloja can increase the interest of centurions in the learning of yellow books, as seen from the aspects of centurians who are active in following learning in the classroom. so that the understanding of the material that has been studied does not just disappear and can also develop a high interest in learning.

Implementation of Merdeka Curriculum Based on Multicultural in Fiqh Learning

The application of the Merdeka curriculum in fiqh learning is a form of response to the presence of the era of society 5.0, which invites every individual to continue to develop their potential independently adapted to technological sophistication. The purpose of this study is to examine and study the application of the Merdeka curriculum in fiqh learning. The research method used is a qualitative approach based on phenomenology with the intention of collecting data through observation, interviews, and document studies. Research data obtained through interviews, observation, and document study were then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum based on multiculturalism in conceptually learning fiqh in madrasas has formulated fiqh material through integration with the study of classical books (the yellow book). Students are given freedom and flexibility in studying and dissecting various literature that contains the study of fiqh. The structure of the Merdeka curriculum in fiqh learning implemented by this Madrasah is centered on the study of worship fiqh, mu'amalat fiqh, munakahat fiqh, roses fiqh, and jinayat fiqh

Metode Pembelajaran Bahasa Arab dalam Memahami Kitab Kuning

This study examines the use of Arabic Language Learning Method in understanding the yellow book at Santriwati Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School, Campalagian District. This type of research includes Descriptive Qualitative. The data source consists of two, namely Primary and Secondary data. The data obtained through interviews, observations and documentation are then processed through the process of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The results of this study show that in increasing knowledge and understanding of the yellow book in Pondok Peasantren applied several methods including the Talaqqi method, the combined method and the discussion method. The factors that become obstacles and supporters in the application of Arabic language learning are internal and external factors. Internal factors include spiritual and physical conditions while external factors include social and nonsocial environments, while supporting factors include teachers, students and curriculum.

Formulasi Kebijakan Kiai Dalam Menguatkan Budaya Literasi di Pondok Pesantren Lirboyo Kediri

Kiai policy is an important factor for pesantren to achieve success in strengthening the culture of reading and writing, but it has not been explored in depth about what policies can strengthen the culture of literacy, ideally a policy formulation should be found so that it can be used in general. This study aims to find kiai policies in strengthening the culture of literacy at the Lirboyo Kediri Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research design used is field research using a case study design where the subjects studied are leadership and literacy culture at the Lirboyo Kediri Islamic Boarding School. Data collection used were participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted inductively which included data condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity checks include credibility, dependability, and confirmability. The results of this study indicate that the kiai Policy Formulation in strengthening the culture of reading and writing at the Lirboyo Islamic Boarding School is (1) mahasantri must produce written works resulting from scientific activities and studies of the turast books compiled and analysed based on applicable scientific guidelines and ethics; (2) the discipline of learning in interpreting the contents of the yellow book; (3) Students are required to recite at least one book to the masyayikh and recite one mustahiq according to the book at their level; and (4) Students must record any material taught in class in addition to interpreting the book, write on the Hidayah Mading and Ma'had Aly level

Transformation of Educational Management in Shaping the Character of Santri at the Purba Baru Musthafawiyah Traditional Islamic Boarding School

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of educational management on the character development of students at the Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Traditional Islamic Boarding School in Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province. This is a descriptive qualitative study in which data was gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects included foundation administrators, pesantren leaders and vice-chairmen, teachers, and students. According to the findings of the study, the transformation process of educational management in forming the character of students at the Musthafawiyah Purba Baru Traditional Islamic Boarding School, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province, has been implemented in the form of a clean, honest, disciplined, trustworthy, independent, respectful, and simple character carried out through yellow book learning activities. Kyai, teachers, hostel supervisors, peers, and yourself all internalize these character values. Despite the fact that it is not optimally responsive to the times and has yet to determine the focus of character development.

PEMBELAJARAN QIRᾹAT AL KUTUB DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-HUDA TINJAUAN KURIKULUM, BAHAN AJAR DAN METODE

<p style="text-align: justify;"><em>Islamic boarding schools are known as religious educational institutions and religious problems. In modern times, Al-Huda Islamic Boarding School still applies traditional learning systems such as Qirāatul Al-Pole learning. The development of Islamic boarding school education is inseparable from the existence of a curriculum that is used as a reference in the implementation of education and plays an active role in achieving the educational goals of Islamic boarding schools, as well as teaching materials and methods. So, the purpose of this research is to find out the curriculum, teaching materials, and learning methods of the yellow book at the Al-Huda Islamic Boarding School. This research method uses descriptive qualitative methods, with data collection techniques by interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the Al-Huda Islamic boarding school in learning qirāatul al-polar uses a curriculum related to nahwu, sharf, and balaghah, the teaching materials used are basic books such as the safinah and tijan books using the sorogan method. Not a few students often take part in Musabqoh qiraatul al-pole (MQK) competitions at the sub-district to national levels and often win prizes.</em></p>
