In this letter, we investigate the excitonic luminescence in few-layered WS2 and find the existence stable trionic (XT) quasiparticle state at room temperature ~ 1.97 eV alongside a slightly blue shifted neutral exciton (X0) ~ 2.01 eV. We attribute this stabilization of the trion as a combined effect of the exfoliation process, substrate (Pt-Ti/SiO2) effect resulting in strong spin–orbit coupling and laser induced heating under ambient measurement conditions. Furthermore, the overall envelope of the excitonic luminescence containing all the quasiparticle states show polarization contrast efficiency ~ 35% between the cross (+) and co (∥) polarization states.
