Analysis Of Workshop Layout On The Application Of Occupational Health And Safety In Department Of Civil Engineering Education and Planning UNY Carpentry Workshop

Background: The implementation of a workshop layout that is not following the 2010 ILO IEA regulations can cause work accidents, hence the need for OHS implementation in woodworking workshops. The objectives of this research are: (1) to determine the suitability of the layout of the Woodworking Workshop of DPTSP UNY with the 2010 ILO IEA regulations. (2) To determine the suitability of the K3 implementation of the woodworking workshop of DPTSP UNY with SNI 45001 2018.Methods: The research method used in this study is descriptive static with a percentage scale. This research was conducted at the Woodworking Workshop of DPTSP UNY with the research sample being lecturers, technicians, and students who were using the workshop. Data was collected using a questionnaire with a Guttman scale.Results: The study yielded the following data: (1) There is conformity between the layout of the Woodworking Workshop and the ILO IEA regulations with an average of 78%. (2) There is conformity of K3 in the woodworking workshop with SNI 45001 with an average of 90%.Conclusion: The suitability of the layout of the woodworking workshop can facilitate the movement of woodwork with the availability of tools that are quite complete, and the layout of the equipment makes it easy for students to find tools, besides that the storage and maintenance of tools is very well maintained. The suitability of K3 in the woodworking workshop provides a high guarantee of safety if it is supported by the discipline of using the correct work procedures and adherence to procedures. In addition, the room with K3 standard criteria to create a safe, comfortable, and healthy environment in carrying out practical activities.

An intelligent optimized secure blockchain mechanism for cloud auditing

The cloud auditing model was attractive for the cloud storage system to check the integrity of the stored user files. Hence, to maximize the security concern, federated learning and the blockchain were introduced. But, in some cases, security issues arose because of the extensive unstructured data and attack vulnerability. So, to avoid security problems and offer better protection in a cloud environment, a novel Optimized Buffalo-based Homomorphic SHA Blockchain (OBHSB) is proposed. In this model for accessing the cloud storage data with the critical matching method, if any of the unauthenticated users are trying to access the file initially, the system checks the key matching parameter. The proposed model was developed to provide better security in big data presented in the cloud environment. Hence, federated learning was adopted to create the cloud auditing phase in the distributed cloud environment. Therefore, it gives flexibility in training all data types: audio, text, and images. Moreover, the prime performance parameters were calculated and compared with other traditional approaches to justify the efficiency of the proposed model. The attack was considered an event in this research. The performance rate of the proposed model was validated in the performance analysis. Subsequently, the case study was developed in this research to explain the working procedure of the proposed design, and the result of the proposed model was discussed.

Analisis Resiko K3 Pekerja Menggunakan Metode Hazard and Operablity (HAZOP)

PT. Pipa Mas Putih is a company engaged in the oil and gas sector. In the production process at PT. Pipa Mas Putih there are still employees who do not pay attention to work procedures, do not use complete PPE, such as not using project helmets, safety shoes, masks, goggles and ear plugs. Until now there are still work accidents. Based on the results of work accident interviews that often occur at PT. Pipa Mas Putih namely, collided, splashed particles in the eye, slipped, squeezed and electrocuted. Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) is a method used to control the risk of work accidents by conducting a risk assessment, which aims to prevent work accidents that can occur. This research was conducted to identify hazard levels that can reduce the level of accidents that can occur in the production area of ​​PT. White Mas pipe. The results of research using the HAZOP method are 1 (one) hazard with very high consequences and 7 (seven) hazards that are classified as having high risk. The steps to reduce the level of risk include providing training to employees and socializing to workers so that they always work according to SOPs and use complete PPE, always carry out toolbox meetings and always prioritize OHS in carrying out work activities.

Risk factors for converting traditional wards to temporary intensive care units during the COVID-19 pandemic: Insights from nurses' perspectives.

The surge in critically ill COVID-19 patients caused a shortage of intensive care unit (ICU) beds. Some hospitals temporarily transformed general wards into ICUs to meet this pressing health care demand. This study aims to evaluate and analyse the risk factors in temporary ICU from the perspective of nurses. By identifying these factors, the goal is to provide actionable insights and recommendations for effectively establishing and managing temporary ICUs in similar crisis scenarios in the future. The study was conducted in China within a public hospital. Specifically, it focused on examining 62 nurses working in a temporary ICU that was converted from an infectious disease ward. The research utilized the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA) scoring method to identify potential threats, evaluate their probability, estimate their impact on specific organizations or regions and calculate the relative risk associated with such occurrences. Staff demonstrated the highest risk percentage (32.74%), with Stuff (16.11%), Space (15.19%) and System (11.30%) following suit. The most critical risk factors included insufficient knowledge and decision-making competence in critical care (56.14%), lacking decision-making abilities and skills in renal replacement therapy care (55.37%), inadequate decision-making capacity and relevant skills in respiratory support care (50.64%), limited decision-making capability in circulatory support care (45.73%) and unfamiliarity with work procedures or systems (42.09%). Urgent implementation of tailored training and support for temporary ICU nurses is paramount. Addressing capability and skill-related issues among these nurses supersedes resource availability, infrastructure, equipment and system considerations. Essential interventions must target challenges encompassing nurses' inability to perform critical treatment techniques autonomously and ensure standardized care. These measures are designed to heighten patient safety and elevate care quality during emergencies. These findings offer a viable avenue to mitigate potential moral distress, anxiety and depression among nurses, particularly those transitioning from non-critical care backgrounds. These nurses swiftly assimilate into temporary ICUs, and the study's insights offer practical guidance to alleviate their specific challenges. The study on risk factors for converting traditional wards into temporary ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially from the perspective of nurses, provides crucial insights into the challenges and requirements for effectively establishing and managing these emergency settings. The findings highlight several key areas of concern and opportunities for improvement directly related to clinical practice, particularly in situations where there is a rapid need to adapt to increased demands for critical care. By addressing the identified risk factors through enhanced training, support systems, resource management, process improvements and cultivating a culture of adaptability, not only can the quality of care in temporary ICUs be improved, but also can the health care system be better prepared for future emergencies. These actions will help mitigate the risks associated with such conversions, ultimately benefiting patient safety, staff well-being and the overall effectiveness of health care services in crises.

Koordinasi Pada Bagian Protokol dan Komunikasi Pimpinan Dalam Meningkatkan Pelayanan di Lingkungan Sekretariat Daerah Kabupaten Supiori

This research aims to describe and analyze Coordination in the Protocol and Leadership Communication Section in Improving Services within the Regional Secretariat of Supiori Regency. The research is descriptive qualitative in nature. Data analysis techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, literature study including work procedure mechanisms, directing, synchronization and division of tasks. The results of the research found that the work procedure mechanism carried out in the service was not optimal because the communication carried out had not been accommodated well, but the direction carried out looked good but not optimal. This was because the coordination function between leaders and subordinates in communication was not good and the implementation of activities had not gone well. , the synchronization aspect was found to be not optimal because there was still work being done that was not in accordance with the directions, the division of tasks looked good but was not optimal because there were still vacancies in certain positions. So from the results of this research it was found that coordination in the Protocol and Leadership Communication Section in Improving Services in the Regional Secretariat of Supiori Regency is not yet optimal because there are still many factors that influence the delivery of services including poor communication, inadequate facilities and infrastructure and there is no collaboration yet. both between leaders and subordinates.

This study analyzes the influence of digitalization changes in the Himalika Organization by focusing on organizational structure, work procedures, and the use of information technology. The background of this research is the need for organizations to adapt to the development of information technology in the era of globalization. The purpose of this study is to understand the level of acceptance and adaptability of organizational members to digitalization changes, as well as to identify the factors that affect the success of these changes. The method used was a quantitative approach by collecting data through a questionnaire filled out by 67 respondents who were members of the Himalika Organization. The results of this study state that regular changes, improvements, and innovations are important for Himalika in improving operational efficiency, adapting to environmental changes, and creating new solutions. Attitude and readiness of utilizing virtual reality simulations in interprofessional education to facilitate prompt and safe hospital discharges in England

ABSTRACT It can be challenging in England to provide interprofessional education (IPE) in hospitals due to practitioners’ availability, high workload, difficulty to backfill, and training costs. Furthermore, most of the IPE training is facilitated by a didactic teaching strategy in a classroom which fails to engage practitioners to understand each other roles and responsibilities, work procedures, policies, issues related to resources, and their pressure points. Technological innovation, in particular virtual reality has opened up a door to overcome these challenges by enabling practitioners to access IPE virtually, and it provides an immersive experience to them. It is not clear whether health and social care practitioners in England would accept and be ready to embrace this type of technology. Hence, this research study aims to understand attitudes and readiness to access virtual reality simulations (VRS) as a teaching modality and pedagogical tool. Health and social care practitioners (n = 22) attended two focus groups after engaging in a VRS and agreed that it could give them valuable learning experiences where they would be able to learn and practice soft skills in a safe environment to discharge people promptly and safely.

No evidence for the influence of head-heart conceptual metaphor on moral decision making and personality

In English, head is associated with rationality and logic, whereas heart is related to feeling and emotionality. In Chinese, these head- and heart-related metaphors also exist. Could these head- and heart-related conceptual metaphors influence people’s moral decision-making and personality? This seems so based on the previous findings that (a) simply pointing an index finger to heart (versus head) position caused participants to produce more emotional responses in a moral decision task, and (b) participants who believed themselves to be heart locators, relative to those who regarded themselves as head locators, scored higher in affect intensity, femininity, and intimacy related activities. The current study attempted to replicate these findings, following the same design and procedure of previous work, with Chinese participants from Hong Kong and Chinese mainland. In Experiments 1a and 1b, 203 participants performed the moral decision task on dilemmas with their index fingers pointing to head or heart. In Experiments 2a and 2b, 304 participants completed the scales of self-location, affective intensity, femininity, and intimacy related activities. In these high-powered experiments, we failed to replicate the findings of previous work. Bayesian analyses further showed that no head- and heart-related conceptual metaphor effect was likely to occur. Potential reasons for our inconsistent results with those of previous studies and the implications of our current findings were discussed.

Enhancing productivity through work study - A case of electric power pole cross arm fabrication

In the area of globalization any manufacturing industry must be competent in terms of productivity, quality, cost and delivery. A fundamental improvement in production is necessary to succeed in the international markets. Work study is one of the earliest scientific management methods used to determine the best way to perform production tasks in order to reduce idle time and worker fatigue as a result, increase productivity. Kombolcha Steel Products Industry, the member of MIDROC Ethiopia Technology Group, producing a variety of metal and engineering products, such as steel poles, steel structures, structural hot dip galvanization, corrugated sheet metal, etc. The company's main focus was meeting the delivery deadlines, with little attention to implementing standard working method and procedures during the production. The inefficient method of piercing the holes in the u-channels to fabricate the electric pole cross arms is causing a drop in productivity.The primary objective of the current study is to identify the bottlneck in the process of electric power poles cross arms fabrication, to set standard time for the process and reduce the cycle time. Time and method studies were used to identify the flaws in the current fabrication process and layout design. The efficient technique to manufacture the product has been replaced by redesigning and implementing a new layout. This arrangement accelerated the process by reducing the idle time for the three punching machines that undertake the piercing operations. The modified layout raised production from the target daily production of 420 pieces to 720 pieces in 8 h, resulting in a 71 % reduction in the previous work cycle from 65 to 39 s. After a time and method study, a simple change in the layout with no capital investment not only increased the company's productivity and profitability, but it also reduced worker fatigue due to extra material handling operations of raw materials and intermediate products.

Step by step and combined supporting technique with allowable deformation + limiting shape for soft rock roadway

Aiming at the difficult problems of the large deformation in weakly cemented soft rock roadways, the reasons of large deformation are analyzed for roadways in Hongqingliang coal mine. On this basis, the principle of step by step combined support technology based on allowable deformation + limiting shape for weakly cemented soft rock roadway is proposed, and the optimal support parameters of step by step combined technology are determined by FLAC3D. Step by step combined support technology includes the primary support of anchor bolt + anchor cable + initial shotcrete and the secondary support of U-shaped steel shed + filling flexible material behind shed + control of key parts. The comparative analysis on the site shows that the deformation rate and final deformation amount of the surrounding rock after the step by step combined support are less than those of the primary support, and the deformation of the surrounding rock can be controlled effectively after the secondary support is added. Step by step combined support is superior to the traditional bolt + anchor cable combined repair in terms of economy and efficiency. The optimal construction period of each working procedure of the step by step combined technology is 28 days after the completion of the first support, and the step by step combined support based on allowable deformation + limiting shape is an effective way to control the surrounding rock of soft rock roadway.

Posterior crossbite corrections in the early mixed dentition with quad helix or rapid maxillary expander: a cost-effectiveness analysis of a randomized controlled trial.

Unilateral posterior crossbite is a common malocclusion, and early treatment is recommended to enable normal growth. There are several possibilities regarding choice of appliances used for correcting this malocclusion; however, when treatment is financed by public funds the decision needs to be based not only on the effects but also on the effect in relation to the costs. The aim was to perform a cost-effectiveness analysis comparing quad helix (QH) and rapid maxillary expanders (RME; hyrax-type) in children in the early mixed dentition. Seventy-two patients were randomized to treatment with either QH or RME, at two different centres. Data were collected from the patient's medical records regarding success rate, number of visits, total treatment time, emergency visits, and so forth, together with answers from patient questionnaires concerning absence from school and use of analgesics. A cost-effectiveness analysis with both an intention-to-treat (ITT) and a per-protocol approach was performed, as well as a deterministic sensitivity analysis. The success rate, one year after the completion of the expansion, was equal between groups according to the ITT approach. From a healthcare perspective, the mean cost difference between RME and QH was €32.05 in favour of QH (P = 0.583; NS). From a societal perspective, the mean cost difference was €32.61 in favour of QH (P = 0.742; NS). The total appliance cost alone was higher in the RME group €202.67 resp. €155.58 in the QH group (P = 0.001). The probability of RME having a higher cost was 71% from a healthcare perspective and 62.7% from a societal perspective. The total treatment time was 97 days longer in the QH group. In the deterministic sensitivity analysis, when using a higher valuation of the children's educational loss, the QH becomes €58 more costly than the RME. There was a statistically significant difference in chair time and visits between centres (P < 0.001). The difference in costs between RME and QH is not statistically significant, however, there is a slightly higher probability that RME is more expensive than QH with a mean cost of an additional €32 per patient from a healthcare perspective. Different work procedures at different centres indicate that logistics around the patient's treatment is a more important aspect than appliance used to decrease the number of visits and save chair time and thereby also costs.

Clinical significanceThe CAD-CAM technology provides a fully digital workflow for manufacturing metal orthodontic appliances, which saves a considerable amount of labor and material costs, and significantly reduces heavy metal pollution in the working environment of dental technicians.

Stakeholder Identification in Internal Control of Building Construction using Design and Build Contract to Improve Efficiency and Effectiveness

The amount of infrastructure development in Jakarta makes internal control of the implementation of design and build contracts for the construction of state buildings need attention. The problem in internal control is there are still some recurring findings and supervisory findings that are not detected by Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) but found by external auditors, as well as delays in completing assignments. The problems include a limited number of technical auditors, uneven knowledge, and experience of construction supervision, overlapping assignments, and a report process that takes time. These problems can have an impact on the implementation of internal control, that is lack of achievement of internal control objectives and the potential for non-compliance with the construction process with laws and regulations, thus showing that internal control of construction is not running effectively and efficiently. To improve efficient and effective internal supervision of construction, it is necessary to standardize operational procedures (SOP) or work procedures for internal control of construction, especially for design and build contracts. This research aims to identify stakeholders and the roles and responsibilities of each party in internal control of building construction using design and build contract to improve efficiency and effectiveness. The results reveal a set of internal and external stakeholders as well as the form of organizational structure and the relationship of coordination and responsibility lines. The results of this research also emphasize the roles and responsibilities of each stakeholder so that each party fully understands the obligation to carry out internal supervision assignments for design and build construction.

Review of ISO 45001:2018 Implementation as Prevention Effort from Fire Occurred in PT Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit VI Balongan

Abstract PT Pertamina Refinery Unit VI Balongan has made a significant contribution in providing good income for PT Pertamina and the state. A large number of petroleum processing products produced daily cause a high risk of fire. Fires and explosions at oil refineries are still common even though major oil companies have occupational safety and health systems in place. Monitoring errors and the absence of re-evaluation of established companies for a long time are the reasons why this can happen. This research uses a descriptive approach through literature studies to collect data and obtain the necessary information by studying various journals, conference proceedings, books, and written references. The results of the research were obtained by PT Pertamina Refinery Unit VI Balongan, which applies several rules regarding work safety from ISO 45001: 2018 based on technical and non-technical aspects. In the technical aspect, the rules include the installation of warning signs and signs, noise, temperature, lighting intensity and personal safety equipment. Meanwhile, the regulations include administration and licensing as Safe Work Permits in non-technical aspects. However, based on several parameters of the application of ISO 45001: 2018, aspects that do not meet the standards are found and can be a problem, resulting in the potential for fire. This study concluded that PT Pertamina Refinery Unit VI Balongan must be able to provide firmness in implementing work safety rules or procedures for its employees.

SOSIALISASI PEMBUATAN DETERJEN CAIR DI LINGKUNGAN ANGGOTA KOPERASI SUMBER REZEKI KOTA BINJAI

Empowering housewives as members of society and still being classified as productive workers is very important, aimed at increasing awareness and independence in business, as well as expanding employment opportunities to increase family income in an effort to achieve a happy and prosperous family. In this regard, this can be done through various alternative activities, including training in making liquid detergent. Soap is a commodity that cannot be separated from household needs. It can be said that part of the routine expenses for housewives each month is allocated to purchasing washing soap. The methods used in this community service activity are socialization, discussion and practice or demonstration regarding raw materials, work procedures and calculation of production costs for making liquid detergent. The training participants are members of the Sumber Rezeki Cooperative in Sumber Mulyo Rejo Village with a total of 20 training participants. This activity was carried out in Sumber Mulyo Rejo Village, Binjai City on February 24 2024. The evaluation plan for service activities is that the target number of training participants is achieved, the training objectives are achieved well, the planned material targets are achieved and the participants are able to understand the training material. The result of this training activity in making liquid detergent is that members of the Sumber Rezeki cooperative in Binjai city have knowledge of making liquid detergent and provide innovation to improve the economy.
