In this work the forging process in step-wedge strikers by commercial FE-code Deform was simulated. For microstructure evolution the Cellular Automata method was used. The influence of technological and geometric parameters of the forging process on the microstructure evolution was studied. Models with different values of the joint angle of the wedge and depression faces, the friction coefficient at the contact of workpiece and tool, the upper striker movement speed and the workpiece temperature were considered. As a result, the following optimal geometric and technological parameters were determined: the junction angle of wedge and depression faces is 160°; the friction coefficient is 0.7; the upper striker movement speed is 1 mm/s; the workpiece heating temperature is 1000°C.
