MHC-1B carried exosomes derived from tubular epithelial cell induced by the EGFR mimotope inhibit macrophage activation in renal fibrosis

The high prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a significant public health burden worldwide. Renal fibrosis is an inevitable pathological process in almost all CKD cases. To date, the available treatments to prevent or delay renal fibrosis progression are limited. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mimotope has been demonstrated to alleviate renal fibrosis in the unilateral ureteric obstruction (UUO) model as a type of vaccine. Further observations suggested that the EGFR mimotope can inhibit the activation of macrophages, which play a vital role in renal fibrosis. In the current study, we explored the link triggered by the EGFR mimotopes between tubular epithelial cells (TECs) and macrophages. A series of experiments indicated that EGFR mimotope immunization can inhibit the activation of THP-1 macrophages by TEC-derived exosomes. Injection of these exosomes ameliorated renal fibrosis in the UUO model. Mechanism analysis suggested that the major histocompatibility complex-1B (MHC-1B) was the key molecule in the TECs exosomes induced by EGFR mimotope immunization and is regulated by ribosomal protein L6 (RPL-6). This study revealed a new specific working path of the EGFR mimotope and suggests that the application of the EGFR mimotope can be extended to other immune-related disorders.

Exploring the path of political work and psychological counseling for college counselors under dual role orientation

BackgroundAs college teachers, counselors are mainly responsible for the political work of school students. Besides, college counselors also need to be responsible for students’ ideological and psychological education, and be their political leaders and psychological. At present, many colleges have introduced political education and mental health education, but there is relatively little research on the combination of the two. The training and assessment for college counselors are also only focused on political work at present. It is crucial to explore the path for college counselors to carry out political work and psychological counseling work under the dual role orientation.Subjects and MethodsA set of controlled experiments was set up to explore the development of counselors’ political work and counseling work under different educational and teaching modes. One hundred and forty-four counselors from a college in China were selected as the study subjects. The 144 counselors were randomly divided into three groups of equal number, which were recorded as group A, group B and group C. The counselors in group A were given political work training only, those in group B were given mental health education only, and those in group C were given a combination of political work training and mental health education. In the third month, the mean scores of subjects in the three groups were 65.22, 62.58 and 72.21 before the instruction, and 68.23, 65.21 and 78.45 after the instruction. In the fifth month, the mean scores of the three subjects were 68.95, 65.59 and 81.45 before the instruction, and after the instruction, their scores changed to 70.12, 68.71 and 85.18.ConclusionsPolitical work training or mental health education alone is not as effective as combined teaching. Innovative research and development activities on high energy and high current isochronous proton accelerator

The MW class proton accelerators are expected to play important roles in many fields, attracting institutions to continue researching and tackling key problems. The continuous wave (CW) isochronous accelerator obtains a high-power beam with higher energy efficiency, which is very attractive to many applications. Scholars generally believe that the energy limitation of the isochronous cyclotron is ∼1 GeV. To get higher beam power by the isochronous machine, enhancing the beam focusing become the most important issue.Adjusting the radial gradient of the average magnetic field makes the field distribution match the isochronism. When we adjust the radial gradient of the peak field, the first-order gradient is equivalent to the quadrupole field, the second-order, the hexapole field, and so on. Just like the synchrotron, there are quadrupoles, hexapole magnets, and so on, along the orbits to get higher energy, as all we know.If we adjust the radial gradient for the peak field of an FFA's FDF lattice and cooperate with the angular width (azimuth flutter) and spiral angle (edge focusing) of the traditional cyclotron pole, we can manipulate the working path in the tune diagram very flexibly. During enhancing the axial focusing, both the beam intensity and the energy of the isochronous accelerator are significantly increased. Here a 2 GeV CW FFA with 3 mA of average beam intensity design is presented. It is essentially an isochronous cyclotron although we use 10 FDF lattices. The key difficulty is that the magnetic field and each order of gradient should be accurately adjusted in a large radius range.As a high-power proton accelerator with high energy efficiency, we adopt high-temperature superconducting (HTS) technology for the magnets. 15 RF cavities with a Q value of 90000 provide energy gain per turn of ∼15 MeV to ensure the CW beam intensity reaches 3 mA. A 1:4 scale, 15-ton HTS magnet, and a 1:4 scale, 177 MHz cavity have been completed. The results of such R&D will also be presented in this paper.

Summarized the contradiction between the village committee and the township government under the improvement of "township government and village governance"; Innovate the grass-roots governance mechanism and cultivate rural elites and rural social organizations; Excavate human potential and promote "farmers' freedom"; Four ways to reasonably position the role of social work and social workers.

Dynamic path planning method for headland turning of unmanned agricultural vehicles

Automatic headland turning is an important part for an unmanned agricultural vehicle at farming work. Minimize the time and travel distance and maximize the operation efficiency of the vehicles during the turning are the concerns of the current focus. This research tries to present a dynamic headland turning path planning method based on an asymmetric switch-back turning method for four-wheeled vehicles. When an agricultural vehicle slips in the field, the algorithm will re-plan the route dynamically according to the real-time position of the vehicle to improve the operation efficiency and reduce the mechanical wear caused by frequently adjusting the steering wheel. The simulation results showed that when the row width was 2 m and some noises were added in the turning process, the trajectory length planned by the proposed algorithm was reduced by 31.42 % and the lateral deviation was reduced by 95.65 % compared with that planned by the traditional switch-back algorithm. In field experiments, the vehicle approached the next working path with an average lateral deviation of 2.0 cm at a speed of 0.5 m/s during a turn. The average length of the trajectory was 11.84 m, and the average time consumed was 28.4 s. Compared with the traditional switch-back turning, the average trajectory length, average lateral deviation and average cost time were shortened by 10.51 %, 78.75 % and 10.70 %, respectively. The proposed dynamic headland turning path planning method has a significant advantage over the traditional switch-back turning method in terms of both accuracy and time efficiency. The algorithm solves the problems that when the headland width is narrow, the vehicle is difficult to turn and deviates from the predetermined trajectory due to sideslips. Moreover, it ensures the shortest path and time for the agricultural vehicles to turn in the field, which greatly shortens the overall path length and time of its field operations.

Preliminary Experimental Study on a Compact Relativistic Magnetron With Diffraction Output of TEM Mode

A compact relativistic magnetron with diffraction output (MDO) of TEM mode has been investigated experimentally by using the EPA-90 high-voltage electron accelerator. The purpose is to verify the diffraction output in low-order mode predicted by numerical simulations. The diagnostic results have indicated that the MDO with all cavity extraction realizes the TEM mode output. When the diode voltage is 480 kV and the axial magnetic field is 0.49 T, the MDO could generate a microwave at a frequency of 2.42 GHz, corresponding to 950-MW output power and 25.8% conversion efficiency. This work paths a way for MDO to realize the radiation with low-order mode.

Both cement and steel production produce large amount of carbon di oxide and also require large amount of energy for production. This is one main aspect of environmental destruction. Ship building activities are ever increasing in India and so construction of new shipyards and modernization of existing shipyards. Launching of ship is one of the most important operations in the entire ship construction process. Getting permissions for such construction involves various authorities and agencies such as concerned Industrial Development Corporation, River Navigation Department, Caption of Ports, Coastal Regulation Zone Authority, Pollution Control Board to name a few. This paper presents some important aspects of environmentally sustainable, ecologically conservable and economical solution Design and Construction Solution of Ship Side Launching Wharfby substituting conventional RCC piles by rammed stone columns to a large extent and use of gabion walls for closing the face of jetty in place of steel or RCC sheet pile making use of locally available quarry stones.

A Study on The Path of Improving Decent Work for Front-Line Employees

The front-line employees of an enterprise are the main force in the direct value creation of the enterprise. Decent work is related to the development and external image of the enterprise, as well as the construction of harmonious labor relations in China. This paper starts with the definition of front-line employees, and finds out the statusquoof decent work for front-line employees through secondary data. The study found that the decent work of front-line employees in China needs to be improved. Therefore, this paper analyzes the promotion path of decent work from the enterprise aspect and individual aspect respectively. From the enterprise aspect, we should pay more attention to the awareness of human resources, the management level of human nature and the construction of employer brand; from the individual aspect, we should cultivate employees' awareness of decent work and improve their engagement and skill training level.

Equal Opportunities for Everyone in the Context of Teacher Competence in Academic Remote Education in the Times of Coronavirus

The article deals with the problem of teaching competencies in distance learning at the academic level in the context of equal opportunities. In this perspective, the article shows the successes and difficulties of distance learning among teachers and students. The article presents the results of a survey conducted on a sample of academic teachers after the first semester of compulsory distance learning during the coronavirus. The research concerned the assessment of the competencies necessary for the proper conduct of the remote academic education process. The objective of the study was also to diagnose the causes of successes and failures in the process of remote education in connection with the issue of teaching competencies of academic teachers. The text also introduces in-depth and expanded empirical research on this subject in the future, offering the reader a discussion of theoretical and practical significance. Showing the implications noticed in the research opens up new paths of remote work with students and new activities aimed at improving the teaching skills of academic teachers. Systematic conclusions and reflections may be handy for academic teachers in the following years of distance learning.

Resumo: O presente ensaio é resultado de uma pesquisa sobre o CREAS e desvela as particularidades dessa unidade no âmbito da proteção social especial. Traz a prerrogativa do trabalho social em rede, e suscita reflexões profícuas sobre as violações de direitos e o papel do Estado capitalista. Aborda as categorias profissionais possíveis no SUAS e a importância da interdisciplinaridade. Os resultados apontaram avanços do CREAS no sistema de proteção social, concluindo que esse serviço está em consolidação.

Developing middle school students’ understanding of machine learning in an African school

Researchers' efforts to build a knowledge base of how middle school students learn about machine learning (ML) is limited, particularly, considering the African context. Hence, we conducted an experimental classroom study (N = 32) within the context of extracurricular activities in a Nigerian middle school to discern how students engaged with ML activities. Furthermore, we explored whether participation in our intervention program elicit changes in students' ML comprehension, and perceptions. Using multiple qualitative data collection techniques including interviews, pre-post open-ended surveys and written assessments, we uncover evidence that indicated evolution of students’ ML understanding, ethical awareness, and societal implication of ML. In addition, our findings showed that a middle school student can learn and understand ML, even when one had no prior knowledge or interest in science related careers. The findings have implication for pedagogical design of AI instruction in middle school context. We discuss the implication of our results for researchers and relevant stakeholders, highlight the limitations and chart future work paths.

Critical link identification algorithm for power communication networks in SDN architecture

With the maturity of software-defined network (SDN) technology, its application in power communication networks (PCNs) is being introduced. SDN controllers can assign working and backup routes for arriving serve requests and provide one-to-one (1:1) protection, which is crucial for the transmission of power system data with high reliability and delay requirements. For PCNs in SDN architecture, a critical link identification algorithm based on link-related risk (LRR-CLIA), which considers both working and backup routes between nodes, is proposed in this paper. The algorithm calculates link importance to identify critical links by quantifying the impact of links on the network risk on service layer, transport layer, and topology layer. To verify the effectiveness of the LRR-CLIA, we compare the network loss on service layer, transport layer, topology layer, and comprehensive layer with other algorithms after ranking and removing the identified critical links in descending order. In the simulation results, the LRR-CLIA outperforms the other algorithms by an average of 39.5% and 51.77% in the small PCN and medium-scale PCN respectively, which shows that the LRR-CLIA can identify the critical links more effectively and accurately in PCNs whose services have both working and backup paths.
