Impact of Work Environment on Job Satisfaction: A Case of School Teachers

Work environment refers to the elements that comprise the setting in which employees work. This research explained two factors of working environment namely working conditions, and job safety and security. As per the various study, if the employees are highly satisfied with their job, it tends to achieve the higher productivity in the organization. So, this study aims to examine factors influencing the job satisfaction of school teachers. Two factor theory is the theoretical foundation for the study. Data were collected utilizing the structured questionnaire which was distributed among 121 school teachers out of which 98 school teachers represents the sample size. The study employed descriptive, relational and casual research designs. Various descriptive and inferential statistical tools like correlation and regression were utilized for data analysis. The findings revealed that working condition, and job safety and security have significant effect on job satisfaction among school teachers and among these two, job safety and security is the most important factor for job satisfaction of the school teachers in Dallu area under study.

Pengaruh Motivasi Dan Lingkungan Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai Kantor Camat Sukasada

This research was conducted to see the impact of motivation and work environment on employee performance at the Sukasada District Office. The objectives of the research include: 1) to see the magnitude of the impact of work motivation on employee performance at the Sukasada Sub-District Office and 2) to see the magnitude of the environmental impact on employee performance at the Sukasada Sub-District Office. The research method used is a quantitative approach. The research location is the Sukasada Sub-district Office. The sample selection method applied was all employees of the Sukasada Sub-district Office, namely 56 people. The data analysis technique used was classical assumption test, multiple linear regression and t-test. The following are the research findings: 1) Work motivation has a positive and significant impact on the performance of the Sukasada Sub-District Office employees. 2) The work environment has a positive and significant impact on the Sukasada Sub-District Office employee performance. The impact of this research is that there is a workspace supervisor so that the obligations of employees are made properly and it is hoped that the existence of good work motivation can trigger the desire and enthusiasm of employees to carry out their duties in the organization and in the company.

The Effect Of Work Behavior And Work Environment On Employee Performance

Employees in an organization were integral to the organization's success. High-performing employees were able to advance the organization to the highest level. The performance standards for competent individuals were quality, quantity, efficiency, and effectiveness, in addition to the ability to collaborate with coworkers. The purpose of this investigation was to determine the impact of employee behavior and work environment on employee performance. This research employs a quantitative verification technique. This survey included all KJP Sugianto Prasadjo personnel from all branches including the main office. This research sample consists of 100 KJP Sugianto Prasadjo employees. Purposive sampling was used for the sample process. Sugianto Prasadjo administered a statement questionnaire to 100 KJP employees as the tool. The research data were analyzed using version 3.0 of Smart PLS. Work conduct had a significant effect on employee performance (p<0.05), the work environment had a significant effect on employee performance (p<0.05), and the work environment mediated the effect of work behavior on employee performance (p<0.05). Consequently, employee performance was influenced by behavior and the working environment. It was anticipated that future study will be able to establish a performance improvement model to foster innovative employee work behaviors for the benefit of the organization

P049 The Impact of Work Environment on Cooking and Eating Habits for Adults in the United States

BackgroundFor many, work environments changed during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic as more people began working from home.ObjectiveTo determine if people who began working more from home had changes in meal consumption patterns (meals cooked at home vs. outside of the home) different from people who did not begin to work more from home.Study Design, Setting, ParticipantsA cross-sectional observational survey was conducted with a convenience sample of adults (n = 9329) from the United States from March 2020 to May 2021.Measurable Outcome/AnalysisDemographics and behavior changes were assessed (including home cooking frequency, eating outside of the home frequency, and changes in work environment). Chi squared analysis were conducted to determine the difference between cooking and eating habits based on work environment controlling for incomeResultsMany (34.7%) reported working more from home at the beginning of the pandemic. Individuals who worked more from home consumed more meals cooked at home and ate fewer meals cooked outside of the home than individuals who did not report working more from home (P < 0.001, respectively).ConclusionsFor some people, working from home during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in eating more food cooked at home and fewer meals cooked outside of the home. Future research needs to determine if shifts in these consumption patterns were associated with improved diet quality and if the changes in patterns were transient or long-lasting.FundingNone

CREM perspective on home office—a consideration of the workplace and its mechanisms of action

The effect between the workplace and work success is a black box whose mechanisms have so far received little theoretical substantiation. In the explanation of the importance of corporate real estate and its management for the success of companies, the influence of real estate on the work productivity of employees through the physical workplace is shown. However, the overall picture has not yet been fully elaborated and the fragmentary knowledge is only partially suitable for attributing organizational outcomes to the characteristics of the physical working environment. Without sufficient empirical data and a solid theoretical foundation for physical working environment studies, it is not possible to draw conclusions with sufficient certainty about the impact of working environments on organizational outcomes.The fact that millions of people worldwide are working from home for the first time during the COVID-19 pandemic provides an unprecedented opportunity to explore the impact of the home office environment on business success.This study aims to contribute to filling this research gap by further investigating the impact of the physical working environment at home on productivity by building on the Environmental Demands–Resources model. Therefore, the research goal is to determine which of the four included demands and resources (isolation, family–work interference, equipment/facilities, and building) have an impact on employee burnout and satisfaction, and how this impact affects employee productivity. Partial least squares structural equation modeling is used to analyze a German survey sample (n = 429).The results suggest that the four included workplace characteristics have significant influence, with equipment/facilities and building increasing satisfaction and isolation and family–work interference increasing burnout. Equipment/facilities is identified as the most important factor affecting productivity in the home office.Through this study, a contribution is made to establish a more inclusive and integrative framework for physical working environment research. In addition, the results show that workspace characteristics have an impact on productivity. Far beyond the pandemic, the impact of changes in workspace design on employee perceptions and organizational performance will be important to corporate real estate management practice.

Employee Performance at PT. Pos Indonesia Persero Medan Barat Medan City: The Impact of Psychological Workload and Internal Work Environment

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of psychological workload and the internal work environment on the performance of PT. Pos Indonesia Persero Medan Barat Medan City personnel. This study employs a quantitative approach. This study began in November 2021 and ended in April 2022. Observation, documentation studies, and questionnaires were employed to obtain data in this study. The employees of PT. Pos Indonesia Persero Medan Barat Medan City, a total of 62 people, will be studied. A quota sampling technique was used to sample all populations. The multiple linear regression method was employed with the SPSS application as the analytical method. The study's findings show that psychological workload affects employee performance in a good and significant way. Employee performance is influenced by the internal work environment in a favorable and important way. Employee performance is influenced by the overall psychological workload and the internal work environment. The coefficient of determination (R2) in this study is 0.640, indicating that the psychological workload and the internal work environment account for 64% of employee performance.

The Impact of Hospitality Work Environment on Employees' Turnover Intentions During COVID-19 Pandemic: The Mediating Role of Work-Family Conflict.

Employees’ turnover intentions and work-family conflict as a result of the hospitality work environment are considered the major global challenges confronted by hospitality organizations, especially in the era of COVID-19. This study aims at identifying the impact of the hospitality work environment on work-family conflict (WFC), as well as turnover intentions and examining the potential mediating role of WFC in the relationship between work environment and turnover intentions, during the COVID-19 pandemic in a sample of three- and four-star resorts in Egypt. A total of 413 resorts employees from Egyptian destinations (Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada) participated in the study. The findings of the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) revealed that the hospitality work environment significantly and positively affects employees’ turnover intentions and WFC. In the context of the mediating role of WFC, results illustrated that WFC significantly partially mediates the relationship between the hospitality work environment and turnover intentions. Upon these findings, the study suggests that to prevent WFC and eliminate turnover intentions among resorts’ employees, an urgent need to create a better work environment is vitally important. limitations and future research directions have been discussed.

This research uses quantitative methods to define the impact of organizational culture, organizational commitment, and work environment on employee performance. This research was performed using objects in the form of an employee of the Jakarta Food Crop Germination Directorate. The research became held using a saturated sample, specifically via taking the entire population of employees as many as 58 employees. The data collected in the study by using a questionnaire with google form on 58 employees. The analysis performed as part of the writing of this research was performed using the SmartPls 3.0 application. The conclusion that may be visible from the research method that has been accomplished are: 1) organizational culture has a good impact on worker performance. 2) organizational commitment has a huge impact on worker performance. 3) the work environment has a huge impact on employee performance. 4) organizational culture, organizational commitment, and work environment concurrently affect employee performance.

Do Leadership, Organizational Communication, and Work Environment Impact Employees' Psychosocial Hazards in the Oil and Gas Industry?

Workplace hazards can have a significant influence on a worker’s physical and mental health, reducing an organization’s effectiveness in terms of safety. However, psychosocial hazards are being recognized as a crucial component that must be addressed for the individual’s and organization’s safety. The purpose of this research was to propose and statistically evaluate a brief theoretical framework based on leadership, organizational communication, work environment, and psychosocial hazards in Malaysia’s upstream oil and gas sector. The framework was tested on 380 Malaysian upstream oil and gas workers. The collected data were analyzed using partial least squares and structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM). The study’s findings revealed that in the Malaysian oil and gas industry, leadership, communication, and work environment negatively influenced the psychosocial hazards. This negative association between predictors and psychosocial hazards, particularly job expectations, control, role, and relationships, indicates new grounds for research. It is discussed how the findings could be used to track employees’ well-being over time and generate focused treatments.

Impact of Work Environment on Employee Productivity in Polytechnics in Edo State

The study examined the impact of work environment on employee productivity in Polytechnics in Edo State. Descriptive survey research design was adopted in the study and the two owned public polytechnics were used in the study. Academic and non-academic staff were the study population. Random sampling procedure was employed in selecting the sample of the study, with a sample size of 204. Questionnaire was the instrument used in the collection of data and data were analysed using simple percentage, correlation and regression. Results revealed that Findings showed that the level of employee productivity was moderate 2.9). The nature of work environment of employees in polytechnics in Edo State was moderately conducive 2.6). There was a significant positive relationship between work environment and employee productivity (r = 0.417**;p &lt;0.05). it was also found work environment significantly influenced employee productivity (t(200) = 0.518, R = 0.299 p&lt; 0.05). employers of labour should provide an enabling environment that is void of noise, well-equipped office, mutual cooperation between the employees and the employers as well as other coworkers as this could enhnace the level of their productivity. Travel Nurse Perceptions of Work Environment, Authentic Leadership, Well-Being, and Pandemic Impact

Travel nurse (TN) utilization has increased in the United States as both a staffing solution and a career choice. We studied the perceptions of TNs regarding their work environment, nurse leadership, and pandemic impact on practice and well-being. We found their well-being “at risk,” disagreement with the presence of a healthy work environment, and high pandemic impact, similar to the larger sample of 1700 US nurses. Authentic nurse leadership was present, signaling solid frontline leadership despite continued pandemic conditions. TNs should be embraced as members of the care team in our new world of dynamic nurse staffing.

Analisis Pengaruh Lingkungan Kerja dan Pelatihan Terhadap Kinerja Karyawan

Abstract : This studies start from the life of a gap in research that discusses the impact of work environment and training on employee performance. The discrepancy between the findings of the study and the existence of the phenomenon occurring in the company. The sample used in this research was 50 respondents who had a data collection method using a questionnaire. This research uses a quantitative method with non-probability sampling, and the sampling technique used is sampling jenuh / saturated sampling. The analysis used is the Frequency Test, Instrument Test by distributing questionnaires to 50 respondents. For this research, the independent variables used include training and work environment. Referring to the results of the data obtained, it is concluded that the work environment and job training variables have a significant and positive influence on employee performance.Keywords: Work environment, employee performance, employee performance.

Impacts of Nursing Work Environment on Turnover Intentions: The Mediating Role of Burnout in Ghana.

Background The nursing practice environment supports excellence and decent work and has the influence to entice and retain the quality nursing workforce. Appreciating the dynamics that affect the turnover intention of RNs offer reasonable solutions to the challenges of the nursing shortage, which directly influence the quality of nursing care. There is a paucity of information on the impacts of these concepts among RNs in Sub-Saharan African. The study therefore aimed at determining the impacts of work environment and burnout on turnover intentions among RNs in Ghana. Methods A descriptive cross-sectional design using a simple random and proportionate stratified sampling with a sample of 232 RNs from Municipal and Regional Hospitals, Sunyani, West-Central part of Ghana completed validated instruments measuring work environment, burnout, and turnover intentions. Descriptive analysis was done to find out RNs' perceptions of their work environment and turnover intentions. Mediation analysis by Baron and Kenny's approach was used to determine the mediating effect of burnout on the relationship between the domains of PPE and the turnover intention of RNs. STROBE checklist was used as the reporting tool. Results While most RNs had a positive perception about their work environment, greater number of them had turnover intentions. There were significant associations between some nursing work environment facets and turnover intention. The results also showed a statistically significant relationship between nurse-physician relation (β = .353, t = 5.476, p ≤ .001), nurse manager leadership (β = −0.485, t = −8.192, p ≤ .001), nursing foundation for quality care (β = .400, t = 7.059, p ≤ .001), staffing and resource adequacy on (β = 0.485, t = 8.183, p ≤ .001), and turnover intention as mediated by burnout. Conclusion Burnout resulting from an unsafe work environment impact RNs' turnover intention. This phenomenon can potentially affect the human resource management and quality of nursing care. Policy strategies aimed at ensuring a professional practice environment and decreased burnout can therefore improve retention of RNs at their workplace.

DAMPAK DISIPLIN DAN LINGKUNGAN KERJA TERHADAP KINERJA PEGAWAI PADA BALAI PEMBERDAYAAN SOSIAL BINA REMAJA (BPSBR)

This is a causal associative study employing observation and questionnaire approaches to explore the impact of discipline and work environment on employee performance at BPSBR Cimahi, with a total of 50 respondents.The variables of discipline and work environment at BPSBR Cimahi were found to be in the good category. Employees are respectful and understand the importance of following all rules and regulations. Employees consider the physical environment to be quite comfortable and pleasant to work in, as well as non-physical variables such as the relationship between employees and supervisors, relationships with coworkers, and those participating in BPSBR.Employee performance is positively influenced by 0.461 or 46.1 percent when discipline and work environment variables are combined, whereas the remaining 53.9 percent is influenced by variables outside of this study.

Impact of activity-based work environments on knowledge work performance – quasi-experimental study in governmental workplaces

PurposeWork environment change from the traditional cell- and open-space offices to activity-based work (ABW) generates many concerns among workforce and management. The purpose of this study is to observe impacts of ABW change on several knowledge work performance drivers and outputs.Design/methodology/approachA quasi-experimental design was applied to distinguish the impact of ABW on several dimensions of knowledge work performance in three governmental organizations. The empirical measures that were observed in the study were: perceptions of physical environment, virtual environment and social environment, individual ways of working, well-being at work and self-assessed productivity.FindingsWell-being at work or productivity will not collapse because of ABW change. Most of the facets of self-assessed productivity and all of the well-being facets did not change because of the adoption of ABW. ABW change had a positive impact on group work effectiveness but negative effect on perceptions of the facilities as conducive for efficient working. ABW change had an enhancing effect on the routine of protecting one’s concentration from software-induced interruptions and decreasing effect on using mobile technologies to work during idle times and using technology to avoid unnecessary traveling. ABW change made telework more acceptable.Originality/valueTo the best of the authors’ knowledge, this study was one the first studies following real-world change to ABW with quasi-experimental design. The difference-in-differences approach made it possible to isolate the causal impact of ABW change on the knowledge work performance drivers and outputs from other simultaneous changes taking place in the studied workplaces.

Impact of Work Environment on Nurse's Retention at Hospital: Scoping Review

Context: Nurses play a vital role in creating a safe and healthy environment for patients. However, a poor working environment affects patient care and nursing retention within a health organization.&#x0D; Aim: This review aimed to collect a comprehensive update review about the impact of the work environment on nurses' retention at the hospital.&#x0D; Methods: A systematic review using a specific engine was conducted to examine literature published from January 2011 to August 2021 on the impact of the work environment on nursing retention. Relevant studies were obtained from several electronic databases, and 21studies met the inclusion criteria.&#x0D; Results: A wide range of selected studies focused on nursing leadership and management. Other themes emerging in prior studies include the role of staffing and financial issue on nursing retention. Furthermore, some studies focused on the role of staff and career development opportunities, collegial relations, experience abuse, workplace facility on nursing retention.&#x0D; Conclusion: The findings suggest that nursing retention is affected by multifactor in the hospital work environment. Hence, Healthcare organizations and senior decision-makers should develop strategies that promote an attractive work environment that will enhance nursing retention.

Understanding the development of a common social identity between expatriates and host country nationals

Purpose This article examines the impact of expatriates' interaction adjustment and conducive work environment (i.e. trust, shared vision and intercultural communication) on the development of a common social identity between expatriates and host country nationals (HCNs) using the social identity theory (SIT). It also investigates whether increased trust, shared vision and intercultural communication mediate the relationship between expatriates' interaction adjustment and development of a common social identity.Design/methodology/approach Dyadic data were collected from 93 Chinese expatriates and 239 Pakistani HCNs using a three-wave time-lag design. A multilevel model was estimated using Bayesian estimation technique in the Mplus software.Findings Empirical evidence suggests an inverse relationship between expatriates' interaction adjustment and the development of a common social identity between expatriates and HCNs. Further, trust and intercultural communication led to a positive impact on the group memberships between expatriates and HCNs. However, no support was found regarding the mediating role of trust, shared vision and intercultural communication in this empirical research.Originality/value The existing literature focuses mainly on change experiences of expatriates during international assignments. However, the current study goes beyond this and investigates the individualized change experiences of HCNs. Further, empirical evidence in this research found a negative relationship between expatriates' interaction adjustment and the development of a common social identity between expatriates and HCNs, which needs to be examined further.

Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subang and to find out how much influence between work environment, work motivation and employee performance on PT. Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subang. The work environment of non physical environment that is owned by PT. Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subangcan be said to be less good because of PT. Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subanga loading and unloading service company at the port Patimban Subang, which is erratic bad weather, less property, prayer room and toilet too far and the high risk of being less sturdy building materials that is danger for employees especially during a thunderstorm. Work motivation that is owned by employees of PT. Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subang can be said to be low because the employees will get compensation in accordance with the performance that conducted and the high risk which can be dangerous employees so that employees feel unmotivated to work. This has an impact on the achievement of performance conducted by employees who from year to year are always unable to reach the company's targets and will have an impact of the income earned by the company. The research method used is descriptiveverification method. The sample used in this study is all employees of PT. Bandar Krida Jala Patimban Subang. Data processing is done by using multiple linear regression, analysis of the coefficient of determination and hypothesis testing. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an influence between the work environment on employee performance on the PT. The Impact of Work Environment on Nurses' Compassion: A Multicenter Cross-Sectional Study.

IntroductionCompassionate care is considered as the main part of the nurses’ identity and a core component of nursing care. One clinical environment where patients experience a lot of pain and nurses play a vital role in delivering care is the intensive care unit (ICU).ObjectiveConsidering the importance of compassionate care in intensive care units, this study aimed to assess the relationship between the work environment and nurses’ compassion in intensive care units.MethodsIn this cross-sectional survey, a total of 235 nurses were randomly selected from the intensive care units of four educational hospitals of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences from January to March 2021. Data were collected by demographic questionnaire, the Sussex-Oxford Compassion for Others Scale (SOCS-O) and the Practice Environment Scale of the Nursing Work Index (PES-NWI).ResultsThe results showed that there was a significant and inverse relationship between the patient per nurse ratio and the mean score of nurses’ compassion (P < .05). Moreover, Pearson correlation coefficient showed that the mean total score of the nursing work index had a significant positive relationship with the mean score of the compassion for others (r = 0.16, P = .016).ConclusionHealth care managers and leaders should pay more attention to the promotion of nurses’ working environments and they should remove the organizational barriers of compassionate care delivery.
