The use of interesting learning media is an important thing for teachers to prepare in carrying out learning. This study is aimed at describing the needs of android-based game learning media as an elementary thematic learning medium. The study is qualitative research with an R D (Research And Development) approach. The RD model uses the ADDIE model at the Analysis stage. The study sampled 3 6th grade teachers and 37 students in the 6th grade of elementary school in Baturetno District, Wonogiri Regency. Sample data was taken by purposive sampling method. Data collection techniques were carried out with questionnaires in the form of google form-based surveys and semi structured interviews. Data analysis was done with a percentage system and then narrated descriptively. Results show that there is a need for the development of android-based game media in elementary thematic learning. The product criteria needed are media that are practical and easy to operate, can be used without an internet network, anywhere and anytime. The product specifications needed are for the media to have features with interesting colours and back sounds (background music), be equipped with animated images, contain thematic learning materials, be equipped with learning videos, and have clear instructions for use and exercise questions in the form of scored quizzes.
