An analysis is made of multilayer plane-parallel and wedge-shaped laser and channel elements, allowing for the spatial structure of the laser radiation field. This analysis is made by expanding the electromagnetic field as a series of homogeneous and inhomogeneous plane waves. The treatment is confined to the cases in which simple models of the laser radiation field can be used. The results are given of numerical calculations of the reflection coefficients of laser radiation from a plane-parallel plate. A formula is derived for designing wedge-shaped plates which can suppress the influence of interference in the reflection of laser radiation from such plates.
