The Influence of Different Asphalt on the Comprehensive Performance of ATB Mixture

By comparing the study of 50# and 70# matrix asphalt and SBS modified asphalt to the influence law of high temperature performance, low temperature performance and water stability performance of ATB mixture, it can balance the relationship of the performance of every road in design method of ATB mixture. It suggests that we can use SBS modified asphalt in the condition of usually, use Low grade matrix asphalt or SBS modified asphalt in the condition of higher temperature requirements for the road , and use High grade matrix asphalt or SBS modified asphalt in the condition of the road in cold region.

Research on Separation and Regeneration Aggregate of Recycled Asphalt Mixture Road Performance

Through the research of different separation and regeneration aggregate content, different types of regenerative high temperature stability, low temperature performance and water stability performance of asphalt mixture comprehensively, the results show that: with the increase of recycled aggregate content, improves the high temperature properties of recycled asphalt mixture, low temperature performance and water stability are reduced, the admixture when regeneration aggregate is 20 ~ 25%, recycled asphalt mixture has good road performance. Mix Design and Performance Research on Asphalt Mixture of SUP-20 with Lucobit

To research the grading applicability of Lucobit modifier and make it adapt to China's basic national conditions very well, the gradations of SUP-20 was selected to research mix design and pavement performance in the text. First, the mix design of SUP-20 without Lucobit is researched. Then the performance of SUP-20 is verified including the high temperature, low temperature and water stability performance of common asphalt mixture. At last the performance comparison between SUP-20 asphalt mixture with 7% Lucobit and without is carried out. Results show that the performance of SUP-20 asphalt mixture with 7% Lucobit and without can all meet the requirement. Compared with the performance of SUP-20 asphalt mixture without Lucobit, the low temperature and water stability performance with Lucobit have a little improvement and the high temperature performance improves a lot. So Lucobit modifier can greatly improve the high temperature performance of SUP-20 asphalt mixture.

Effect of Fine Aggregate on Properties of Asphalt Mixture

The fine aggregate plays a vital role in the performances of asphalt mixture. In this paper, four kinds of fine aggregates with different lithology, apparent density and water absorption rate were discussed. Asphalt mixture according to AC-13 is prepared by these four kinds of fine aggregates and the volumetric properties, water stability performance and high temperature performance of asphalt mixture were tested. Research shows that: the aggregate performance and the performance of mixture have obvious corresponding relation, which provides the theoretical basis for the engineering application of composite aggregates.

Study on Water Stability of Warm Mix Drainage Asphalt with Sasobit

To study water stability of Sasobit warm mix drainage asphalt (WMDA) and improve it, OGFC-13 WMA is primarily prepared with polyester fibre and Sasobit. According to the test results of specimens, formed at 5 different compaction temperatures by marshall tests, the optimal compaction temperature is determined. Then, general water stability tests were used to test the water stability performance of 4 kinds of asphalt mixtures, which were porous asphalt mixture of hot mix (OGFC-1),Sasobit WMDA without any anti-stripping agents (OGFC-2), Sasobit WMDA added hydrate lime (OGFC-3) and Sasobit WMDA added hydrated lime with quick lime (OGFC-4).Test results show that optimal compaction temperature is 150°C; water stability order (OGFC-3>OGFC-1>OGFC-2>OGFC-4) shows that using hydrated lime has beneficial yet limited effects to it. Hydrated lime with quick lime should be avoided for its adverse effect.1.5% hydrated lime shows best water stability.

Study on Water Stability of Granite Asphalt Mixture

To make effective use of the granite aggregate resource, and improve the road properties of the granite-asphalt pavement. Firstly, technical properties of various kinds of granite aggregate were tested; Secondly, conduct the mixture design of asphalt concrete with different fine aggregate and stripping resistant admixture and checking the road performance. Thirdly, the asphalt concrete water stability of different kinds of granite was analyzed with the normal water stability method and Hamburg rutting test. The results showed that granite aggregate has the advantages of high strength and abrasion performance; water stability of granite asphalt mixture can be improved effectively by using limestone fine aggregate; adding hydrated lime or cement can significantly improve the water stability performance of granite asphalt mixture, lime hydrate having the optimal improving effect.

Research on the Relationship between Clay Content in Aggregate and Water Stability of Rubber Asphalt Mixture

In order to verify the characterization degree of water stability, research selects some clay content aggregate retrieved from road engineering field to produce rubber asphalt mixture and carry out the water stability test. Test results show that clay content in aggregate has a significant influence on the water stability of rubber asphalt mixture. When the content of clay in aggregate less than 1%, the influence on water stability is smaller; when the clay content exceeds 2%, the decay rate on water stability performance and long term properties obviously speed up, resulted in serious water damage.
